Summary

  • Fourth season of Rising of the Shield Hero set for release in July 2025 with new key visual.
  • Tagline for new season is “Revered, yet w(e)ary”, streaming on Crunchyroll.
  • Shield Fes event in Tokyo on June 15 to feature returning cast and new characters.

In late February, details about the launch period for the fourth season of Rising of the Shield Hero were disclosed. Additionally, a fresh key artwork was unveiled that features our main character, Naofumi, and his party, including two new characters. This artwork depicts Naofumi seated majestically on a throne.

For the upcoming July 2025 release of the fourth season of “Rising of the Shield Hero,” the tagline is a thoughtful play on words: “Honored, yet Burdened.” This tagline can be interpreted in two ways – either referring to being vigilant against potential danger (“Burdened”), or feeling exhausted (“Weary”). When it airs, you’ll be able to watch the fourth season of “Rising of the Shield Hero” on Crunchyroll.

What We Know So Far

Staff and New Cast Announcements For Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4

Besides revealing the July release date for Rising of the Shield Hero, as previously announced by Kadokawa, the production team is also arranging a “Shield Fes” event featuring the series’ actors and musicians. This event will take place in Tokyo on June 15th. While specific details about returning cast and crew members aren’t clear yet, these confirmed cast members are scheduled to appear at Shield Fes:

  • Kaito Ishikawa (Naofumi)
  • Asami Seto (Raphtalia)
  • Rina Hidaka (Filo)
  • Natsuko Hara (Rishia)
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Ren Amaki)
  • Makoto Takahashi (Motoyasu Kitamura)

In addition to unveiling two new characters, Werner played by Takeo Ōtsuka and Jaralis portrayed by Jirō Saitō, visuals depicting their roles have been disclosed. Expect further details about the forthcoming Season 4 of The Rising of Shield Hero as we draw closer to its release date. Our protagonist, Naofumi Iwatani, continues his isekai journey as the “Shield Hero”, one of the Four Cardinal Heroes summoned to safeguard Melromarc Kingdom from calamities. Unfortunately, his status as the weakest among them has set him on a challenging path. An early betrayal led him to save the kingdom repeatedly. With high anticipation following the letdown of Season 2 and the third season not meeting the expectations set by the first, Season 4 may serve as The Rising of Shield Hero’s last chance.

The upcoming fourth season of The Shield Hero will stream on Crunchyroll once it’s aired in July. You can catch up on the first three seasons on the same platform as well.
