Format

This season’s setup features a unique matchup between the lower eight seeds and the higher eight seeds. However, don’t forget that we’ll also have a Swiss round, where every one of the 16 teams will face off against each other.

In this year’s tournament, the eight best Swiss teams will be placed into a knockout round with a twist: The leading four teams get two opportunities to advance before reaching the semifinals. Meanwhile, teams ranked from 5th to 8th will only have a single chance when they compete.

That extra life definitely gives the top four Swiss teams a heavy advantage, adding quite a bit of pressure against the other teams. This tournament series is already looking to be incredibly competitive.
