  • Unfinished Business offers brutal FPS combat, flashbacks, new weapons, and intense action reminiscent of classic films.

Nacon unveils Rogue City: Unfinished Business, an independent expansion that intensifies the action in a way reminiscent of The Raid series. This time, the authorities are making their return, and they’re storming skyscraper levels teeming with hired guns.

It’s a one-tower, one-cop power fantasy with an entire army standing between him and justice.

At today’s Nacon Connect gathering, we saw five fresh game unveilings, plus updates on 16 existing ones, and a peek at some exciting gaming equipment. One particularly striking reveal was RoboCop: Rogue City, a hardcore first-person action game that really ramps up the mayhem to unprecedented levels.

If you ever wanted to play Dredd or The Raid in FPS form, this is it.

OmniTower: RoboCop’s Deadliest Mission Yet

In the action-packed scenario of “Unfinished Business,” the combat takes place within OmniTower, a structure that was initially a corporate skyscraper but has since been taken over by mercenaries. Your mission is to neutralize these cybernetic assassins, drones, and elite soldiers, and in doing so, reestablish peace and order.

Instead of maintaining his patrol on the streets, RoboCop now finds himself battling mercilessly through OmniTower, a towering building filled with mercenaries, dangerous environmental hazards, and traps set up on each floor. This series of relentless fights in the narrow corridors and cramped spaces of OmniTower mirrors Rama’s intense, close-quarters combat style from The Raid.

Nacon’s Publisher labels it as a self-sufficient follow-up, which means you can enjoy it without having the original game. While it isn’t a complete sequel, it offers a gritty, independent narrative that feels like a fresh new chapter in the series.

Fresh Twists in Robocop: Rogue City

In “Unfinished Business,” you’ll journey back into Alex Murphy’s history before the era of cybernetics, thanks to flashback missions. During this time travel, you’ll don the iconic boots that once belonged to Alex Murphy, these boots were in use well before his subsequent cybernetic reconstruction.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about the enhanced firepower in the OmniTwer expansion. The iconic Cryo Cannon is back, and alongside it, an array of weaponry that leaves no doubt about your intentions. Not only do you get to wield a mini-gun, but also some lethal melee finishes that bring the fight up close and personal with the residents. It’s time to unleash chaos!

Robocop Expansion Reflects Classic Action Films

Similar to Dredd and The Raid, Unfinished Business immerses you in a relentless, multi-level battlefield where progress can only be made by ascending floors. While Rogue City’s heavy gunplay and strategic combat are present in this expansion, it amps up the action pace, offering continuous, intense gameplay.

In many ways, the combat scenarios found in Unfinished Business mirror the raw toughness of Dredd and the pulse-pounding action of The Raid. Each level poses a threat requiring quick thinking and immediate tactical adjustments.

Essentially, what Unfinished Business offers is not a revolution of the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre, but rather a nostalgic, high-octane FPS experience reminiscent of what fans have always appreciated.

If you’re looking for intense battles, devastating landscapes, and a dash of witty, tough-as-nails dialogues as you defeat opponents, this expansion appears to be what you’re after.

Nacon has not specified an exact launch date for Unfinished Business as of now, but it’s planned for a summer release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers.
