As a seasoned Rocket League enthusiast with countless hours spent mastering my aerial game, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Season 17! The prospect of honing my skills in the all-new Online Free Play, perfecting those elusive air dribbles and ceiling shots, has me practically buzzing with anticipation.
starting on December 4th, it’s been revealed by Epic Games that the seventeenth season of Rocket League will kick off, introducing fresh elements and an updated rocket pass for all players to enjoy!
Initially, let’s talk about the free play mode that Epic Games refers to as such: “If you’re keen on enhancing your abilities in between intense matches or simply want to enjoy some time with friends, give the brand-new Online Free Play a try! It’s an ideal spot to master your air dribbles and ceiling shots alongside other players. You can start an Online Free Play Session directly from the main menu, the end of a match screen, or while searching for a game. The party leader can create sessions, but you can also set up your own practice field.
In this game, you can play Soccer, Basketball, Snow Day, and Dropshot modes, all within various arenas. Additionally, there are settings for resetting goals and adjusting boost options. Plus, logging in will earn you an Icebreak Banner, and as a bonus, you’ll receive the season 17 theme song “Tokyo Machine’s PLAY (VIP) Player Anthem” for free.
Tokyo Machine expressed his enthusiasm about elevating the experience with a fresh rendition of the track, serving as the theme for Season 17. He’s thrilled about his team unleashing ‘PLAY (VIP)’ in the Rocket League Arena,” says Tokyo Machine.
In the upcoming Season 17, Neo Tokyo (Arcade) Arena will make its appearance, and so will two exciting limited time modes: Split Shot Heatseeker, which invites players of all skill levels to participate in thrilling goal-scoring action, and Split Shot itself. This mode offers a new take on the traditional 3v3 Rocket League gameplay by splitting teams across each half of the field, encouraging players to score stunning long-range goals.
