It’s been announced that Rocksteady Studios is facing another wave of job cuts. With the conclusion of support for the game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and its final season, there has been a significant reduction in staff across several departments within the studio.
Eurogamer became aware first of the job cuts, as several affected employees – from quality assurance, programming, and art departments – confirmed these redundancies to the publication. The report indicates that these individuals were among those who were terminated.
In the past couple of months, the company has announced two rounds of layoffs, particularly affecting the Quality Assurance team, which experienced a 50% decrease in staff back in September. During their Q1 FY2025 earnings call last May, Warner Bros. disclosed that Suicide Squad resulted in a $200 million loss for the company following its underwhelming debut. On their latest earnings call, they expressed intentions to prioritize profitable video game franchises such as Batman, Mortal Kombat, and Hogwarts Legacy going forward.
