A Reddit user, Hot-Challenge-2755, first noticed the leak, which also mentioned two cosmetic items for Rose. GameStop has since removed all references to Rose, suggesting it may have been a mistake or an attempt to conceal a spoiler. While producer Masato Kumazawa has stated that returning characters will be featured, many fans anticipated Leon Kennedy would be the main returning character.

For a while, everyone expected Leon to be a playable character in the new game, so the recent news about Rose being playable came as a surprise to many. There was even a previous leak suggesting Leon’s involvement, which clashes with the information about Rose. This has created confusion about which leak, if either, is accurate. Fans on Reddit have also noted that for Rose to be playable, the game would likely need to be set far in the future.
