A new leak suggests that a remake of multiple *Pokémon* regions is in development, currently known internally as ‘Seed.’ This game is rumored to include massively multiplayer online (MMO) features and an open world where players can travel freely between regions like Sinnoh and Hoenn. The leak claims the team is testing an online game playable with others, set in a combined Hoenn and Sinnoh region. Later reports indicate this MMO could eventually encompass all of the Japanese *Pokémon* regions, meaning areas from *Pokémon Red and Blue* (Kanto) and *Pokémon Gold and Silver* (Johto) might also be included.
Fans are excited about this news, but it’s unlikely the game will be released soon. According to sources, it’s being developed for the Switch 2 and will likely launch sometime during that console’s lifespan. This game is considered a next-generation title and will probably come after the next main *Pokemon* game, currently known as *Pokemon Wind and Waves*, following *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*. Because the game will feature many different regions, it will take a significant amount of time to create. Even if *Pokemon* games start releasing every year beginning with *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* in 2025, players shouldn’t expect to play this particular game before late 2027.
