As a seasoned gamer with over three decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement at the prospect of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 collaborating with some of Xbox’s legendary franchises like DOOM, Gears of War, and Halo. The rumors are swirling like a whirlwind of pixels and polygons, and I can almost hear the battle cries of Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, and Doom Slayer echoing through my speakers.

There’s been chatter that Call of Duty: Black Oops 6 might be planning to team up with some of Xbox’s top series, such as DOOM, Gears of War, and Halo. While these rumors haven’t been verified by Activision yet, it’s worth noting that the publisher of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now under Microsoft, Xbox’s parent company. This means collaborations with these popular franchises could become a reality.

In January 2022, Microsoft revealed its plan to purchase Call of Duty’s publisher for an astonishing $68.7 billion. Following several obstacles and legal battles, Microsoft finally sealed the deal with Activision-Blizzard in October 2023. This acquisition brought popular franchises such as Crash Bandicoot, Diablo, Spyro the Dragon, Candy Crush, Call of Duty, among others, under the Microsoft/Xbox brand. With the deal complete, it didn’t take long for Activision games to start appearing on Xbox Game Pass. However, it now appears that collaborations are next in line on the studio’s agenda.

Call of Duty Leak Reveals Major Collaborations for Black Ops 6

Based on reports from data miners, industry insiders like COD Warfare, VondyIsPog, and Shpeshal_Nick, it appears that significant characters from different Xbox series are set to appear in this year’s Call of Duty title. Initially, it was suggested that figures such as Doom Slayer, Master Chief, and Marcus Fenix would debut in Modern Warfare 3, but for reasons yet undisclosed, these collaborations have been postponed and will instead show up in Black Ops 6. It’s also expected that the game will introduce a range of new operator skins in Black Ops 6. Moreover, COD Warfare hints at the possibility of various weapons from Halo, Doom, and Gears of War becoming available as well.

Discussing Call of Duty being under the Microsoft umbrella sparked plenty of conversation when they announced their acquisition of the game’s publisher. With collaborations between other Xbox titles a given, it was the series’ addition to Game Pass that piqued many gamers’ interest. Although Modern Warfare 3 joined Game Pass in July 2023, the Call of Duty community was taken aback when Xbox made Black Ops 6 available on Game Pass on its very first day of release. As per Microsoft’s CEO, Black Ops 6 has proven to be a massive success on Game Pass.

Under the protective wing of Microsoft, partnerships between Call of Duty and Halo, DOOM, Gears of War, and other Activision-Blizzard studios’ titles could potentially occur. Previously, Call of Duty has teamed up with popular entities such as The Boys, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Tomb Raider, among others. However, it is essential to approach these speculations with caution until official confirmation from Activision, Treyarch, or Xbox comes through.
