Fans are getting a first look at what’s coming in February’s Pokemon GO Community Day! Leaks reveal that the classic Pokemon Vulpix will be featured. The popular mobile game has already started 2026 strong with several exciting events. Earlier this year, Pokemon GO held a Community Day Classic with Piplup, and Grookey was the star of January’s main Community Day. Plus, the game has added a bunch of new Pokemon and forms to kick off the new year.
Just a couple weeks into 2026, Pokemon GO is off to a strong start with new content! The game began the year with its Pinch Perfect event, introducing the Gen 9 Pokemon Klawf and the first-ever Shiny Dhelmise. Scopely has announced another new Shiny Pokemon – Shiny Fidough – will appear later in January as part of the Precious Pals event, starting on January 20th. Now, Pokemon fans are getting a preview of one of February’s major events.
Pokemon GO Leak Pins Vulpix as February Community Day Pokemon
A recent data leak from The Pokemod Group suggests what’s coming in February’s Pokemon GO Community Day. It looks like Vulpix, a classic Fire-type Pokemon from the first generation, will be featured, along with its Alolan Ice-type variant. If you evolve Vulpix into Ninetales during the event, they’ll learn exclusive moves: Kanto Ninetales will get Energy Ball, and Alolan Ninetales will learn Chilling Water. While the exact date hasn’t been announced, past Community Days have usually happened in the middle or towards the end of the month.
February’s Community Day event will finally give Vulpix, a popular Pokémon from the first generation, its own dedicated event. Like other Community Days, players can expect Incense and Lure Modules to last longer, increasing the number of Pokémon that appear. Both the original Kanto Vulpix and its Alolan form will be featured, and Shiny versions of both will be more common. Vulpix was a candidate for a Community Day back in February 2020, but Rhyhorn was ultimately chosen by players instead.
Pokemon GO May Have Big Plans for Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary
Fans of Pokemon GO have a lot to look forward to in 2026, especially with the Pokemon franchise celebrating its 30th anniversary. A significant leak from August 2025 revealed that the game’s files contain references to unreleased Pokemon, including legendary creatures from Generation 9 like Ogerpon, Pecharunt, and Terapagos. Additionally, Pokemon GO is expected to soon incorporate Mega Pokemon that appear in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, bringing over 40 different Mega Evolutions from both the game and its downloadable content.
Okay, fellow Pokemon GO trainers, get hyped! It sounds like the Pokemon Company is planning a huge celebration over the next few months for the franchise’s anniversary. Rumor has it we’re finally going to see the reveal of Generation 10 Pokemon, and naturally, Pokemon GO will probably get an event to tie into the new games. They even dropped a hint in their New Year’s message saying 2026 is going to be the “best year yet” for Pokemon! With the 30th anniversary coming up, it’s shaping up to be a really exciting time to play, and I can’t wait to see what Niantic has in store for us in Pokemon GO!
