Rumor: ROG Xbox Ally Price Leaked

A leaked post from a retail worker suggests the ROG Xbox Ally handheld gaming system might cost around £500. While both the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X are scheduled to launch on October 16th, Microsoft and ASUS haven’t officially announced prices yet, likely due to current global economic tariffs.

After being shown off at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, more information about the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X handhelds gradually became available over the summer. Microsoft and ASUS announced at Gamescom that the devices would launch on October 16th, but they didn’t immediately share the price. The delay in announcing prices was caused by global tariffs put in place by the Trump administration on goods like video game consoles and other electronics made in China and other countries.

Xbox ROG Ally Could Be Priced Lower Than Expected

Recent online posts suggest a possible price for the ASUS ROG Ally gaming handheld. A retail worker in the UK shared photos on Reddit showing the standard ROG Ally listed for £499.99 (around $550 before tax) at Argos. The photos also indicate pre-orders will begin on September 24th. This price aligns with earlier reports that estimated the device would cost around €599. While these details haven’t been officially confirmed, they offer a potential look at the upcoming price and availability.

There were a couple of mistakes in a recent image posted by FriendlyPharma. The product was incorrectly labeled as the “Asus Xbox Rog Ally” by the retailer Argos, and the image actually showed the older ROG Ally X model. However, the main issue is the tariffs imposed by the US government on imported goods from countries like China, where Microsoft and ASUS manufacture their products. These tariffs are now forcing Microsoft to increase the price of Xbox Series X/S consoles, starting October 3rd. This will be the second price increase for Xbox consoles this year, bringing the Xbox Series S 512GB to $399.99 – $100 more than its original price in 2020.

The ROG Xbox Ally and its more powerful version, the Xbox Ally X, will be available starting October 16th. They’re designed to rival the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 as a top choice for handheld gaming. We’ll have to wait and see how much these new ROG Xbox Ally devices will cost.
