After the triumph of the 2022 release “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands“, a spin-off from the “Borderlands” series, there was a general anticipation that a follow-up game might be under development.
Initially, the anticipation dissipated like smoke when a LinkedIn profile indicated a contractor was working on an unannounced sequel. However, the smoke turned into flames when Kotaku disclosed that the development of a Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands sequel had gone through a soft reboot.
According to a recent report from MP1st.com, it appears that the sequel’s development has been halted in the last few months. This news comes after repeated layoffs and budget cuts at Lost Boys Interactive, the studio who had assisted Gearbox with spin-off development over the past year.
Furthermore, it appears that a past project listed on a LinkedIn profile of a former Lost Boys team member was never announced and ultimately scrapped. This unannounced and discontinued project may have been the follow-up to Tiny Tina’s series.
After the launch of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford expressed his intention to turn this spin-off into a new series for the company. In fact, he mentioned that additional experiences are already being worked on at Gearbox, and he was happy about the game’s positive reception from critics.

Despite the disappointment of scrapping a new installment in the Tiny Tina series, being a Borderlands fan now offers an exciting timeframe, with Borderlands 4 recently unveiled at The Game Awards, keeping our anticipation high.
