This post contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days.
2025 has proven to be a fantastic year for anime enthusiasts as they’ve been treated to some exceptional titles since its start. Unfortunately, not all series have lived up to expectations in terms of quality. One major disappointment this year is the series called “Sakamoto Days“.
The Sakamoto Days Anime Does Not Live Up To The Hype
TMS Entertainment Has Not Done Enough

- TMS Entertainment needed to do better
- Sakamoto Days’ manga is far superior to the anime
Prior to its debut, Sakamoto Days was widely anticipated as one of the most significant releases slated for 2025. Those who had read the manga were well-informed about the series’ excellence. In fact, if someone asked Sakamoto Days fans about the manga, it’s almost certain that their feedback would be overwhelmingly positive. Consequently, when the anime was announced in 2024, enthusiasts couldn’t wait to see what TMS Entertainment had in store for us.
Regrettably, fans have felt significantly disappointed by the production studio due to various issues. Many viewers have expressed dissatisfaction over the studio’s decision to omit certain chapters, while others have criticized the animation quality. It is undeniable that TMS Entertainment fell short in conveying the spirit of the manga through their animated adaptation. Fans have repeatedly voiced their concerns on social media platforms, but their efforts seem to have been in vain. Nevertheless, they retained a glimmer of hope that Sakamoto Days part 2 would improve. Tragically, their optimism was unfounded.
Sakamoto Days’ Anime Adaptation Has Disappointed Fans
Fans Can’t Believe That Their Favorite Anime Was Treated In Such A Horrible Way
Season 1 Part 2 of Sakamoto Days isn’t off to a strong beginning, as it continues to grapple with similar issues, and it seems these problems may persist for some time. Manga readers who also watch the anime can easily spot the disparity between the original material and its adaptation. Consequently, they have been left feeling the most disillusioned.
Fans were hoping for an adaption that would truly reflect their beloved manga. However, when they saw Sakamoto Days’ mediocre adaptation, the fan community expressed disappointment. To pile on, there are numerous new series debuting in 2025 with much higher production quality.
Based on the feedback about Sakamoto Days, it’s likely that a new season won’t be announced immediately. TMS Entertainment needs to reconsider and enhance the series’ quality before making any decisions. In the meantime, fans should maintain reasonable expectations and not anticipate a significant update soon.
2025 Is A Great Year For Anime Fans

Although some viewers might find Sakamoto Days disappointing, there’s plenty more to explore. Action enthusiasts should definitely check out Solo Leveling Season 2, brimming with breathtaking battles. A-1 Pictures pulled out all the stops to ensure viewers have an incredibly satisfying viewing experience.
For those seeking animes with engaging narratives, Takopi’s Original Sin, The Apothecary Diaries, and One Piece are worth checking out. Among these, One Piece boasts over 1100 episodes, providing plenty of content for extended viewing sessions. Takopi’s Original Sin, on the other hand, consists of only six episodes but has garnered high praise in 2025. Since it covers some mature themes, viewers are cautioned to watch at their discretion. The Apothecary Diaries is also a solid choice; it offers an intriguing cast and each episode presents a fresh mystery that contributes to a larger plot.
A highly praised anime currently airing is Lord of Mysteries, adapted from a web novel. Although it’s in its initial phases, it has garnered numerous positive reviews, making it an intriguing watch for fans, particularly those who appreciate mystery, thriller, and supernatural elements.
As we move further into 2025, there are several exciting anime titles on the horizon even past the summer lineup. Some of the notable releases scheduled later this year include: Spy x Family Season 3, One Punch Man Season 3, My Hero Academia Season 8, and Kingdom Season 6.
