Samson Game Gives Update on PS5 Version

I’m so excited! I just heard from Liquid Swords that Samson is officially coming to consoles in Fall 2026! They haven’t said exactly which ones yet, but I’m pretty sure we’re getting versions for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, at the very least. I can’t wait!

Liquid Swords, a new game studio founded by a lead developer from the Just Cause series, recently released Samson, a third-person action-adventure game. Players take on the role of Samson, an ex-criminal pulled back into a life of crime to settle significant debts. While released on PC on April 8th, Samson hasn’t been well-received. It currently has a score of 53 on OpenCritic, with only 33% of critics recommending it. Steam users have given it a “Mixed” rating based on over 2,400 reviews. TopMob’s Nick Rodriguez was particularly critical, giving the game a 3/10 and describing it as “a broken, boring, charmless mess” that needed more development or a clearer direction.

Samson Comes to Consoles This Fall

Okay, so even though Samson hasn’t been getting the best reviews, the team isn’t giving up! They just posted a new roadmap on Steam, outlining their plans through 2026, and the big news is a console release! They’re aiming for Fall 2026, which is awesome. However, they haven’t said which consoles yet, or given a specific date within the Fall, so we’ll have to wait for more details. Still, it’s encouraging to see them pushing forward!

Samson’s 2026 Roadmap Explained

Before its release on consoles this fall, the game Samson will get several updates. Samson has already been improved with two large updates since its initial launch. These updates included fixes to make the game more stable, improvements to combat, and new tutorials to help players with driving and close-quarters fighting.

Hey everyone, just saw a Steam update about Samson! It looks like we’re getting our third post-launch update on April 22nd. They’re fixing a bunch of bugs, but also adding some cool stuff like more combat improvements, new car options, and better keyboard controls for tuning. They’re even tweaking the time trials and working on performance, so hopefully, it’ll run even smoother. Then, just a week later, on April 29th, update four is dropping. This one’s really focused on stuff we asked for, based on community feedback, alongside more general improvements to performance and gameplay. Pretty exciting stuff!

The team at Liquid Swords intends to keep releasing weekly updates for Samson for the near future, with the next one scheduled for May 9th. They’re also planning two larger content updates in the coming months: one in mid-May focusing on new combat features, and another in mid-June adding new vehicles. Ideally, Samson will have received at least ten patches and two major content additions by the time it launches on consoles this fall.
