Samsung Unveils ‘Folding Handheld’ Concept Called Flex Gaming

At MWC 2025, Samsung showcased an impressive array of technology innovations. From breathtaking new OLED TVs to large gaming monitors, their lineup had something for everyone. Notably, they introduced a remarkable 500 Hz OLED screen monitor, an exquisite 240 Hz OLED laptop, and a futuristic foldable handheld gaming device.

After the achievement Samsung has made with foldable smartphones and tablets, there’s a logical next step, but does the market actually demand it?

Foldable Gaming Experiences

At MWC 2025, Samsung unveiled Flex Gaming, an innovative idea featuring a foldable 7.2-inch screen that collapses in the middle for convenient storage. During the event, they showcased it, although it’s yet to be confirmed if the device is functional.

The design appears quite conventional with two joysticks and a d-pad, yet it has an indentation on both sides. These indents enable the joysticks to be fully enclosed within the device when it’s folded, thereby saving additional space.

These gadgets – a Steam Deck, a Razer Blade 16, and another unnamed device – were placed together and actively playing the well-liked games from KRAFTON, such as InZOI, an alternative to The Sims with a realistic touch.

Enthusiasts of technology gathered at the event to examine Samsung’s latest 77-inch QD-OLED TVs, along with a 31.5-inch QD-OLED monitor. Both devices are renowned for their stunning visuals and vibrant color representation.

As a gamer, I’ve got to say, one oddball device that caught my eye in the Samsung lineup was this Flexible Cabinbag. It’s not your typical gaming gear – it unfurls into an 18.1-inch screen! When you’re done using it, you can fold it back up to fit neatly inside a briefcase. And let me tell you, this thing doesn’t skimp on the tech specs; it boasts an OLED screen, just like you’d expect from Samsung.
