Sanji’s Epic Elbaf Showdown: Who Will He Face First?

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

Summary

  • Shamrock and Gunko arrived first in Elbaf, signaling the start of a Holy Knights conflict.
  • Sanji’s potential battles in Elbaf may involve facing Loki and Saint Killingham.
  • The Straw Hat Pirates, including Sanji, will engage in individual fights against powerful enemies in Elbaf.

From where I stand, the Elbaf arc in the world of One Piece has been nothing short of spectacular thus far. With each passing chapter, it’s clear that the storyteller, Oda, is only warming up to the grandeur of Elbaf. The intensity of this arc is expected to escalate as the narrative unfolds, promising a rollercoaster ride for us fans.

The Straw Hat Pirates are undoubtedly going to find themselves in a fierce battle against some formidable adversaries. This impending conflict will undoubtedly present Luffy with a powerful opponent, and characters like Zoro and Sanji won’t be left untouched either.

Typically, these three are among the most formidable combatants within the Straw Hat Pirates, often handling powerful adversaries during battles. In Elbaf, a region where Oda has introduced some extremely potent enemies for the Straw Hats to vanquish, it is expected that the Monster Trio will excel, which implies Sanji will encounter an extraordinary battle of his own, one he must rise to meet and conquer.

The Arrival of The Holy Knights In Elbaf

  • Shamrock And Gunko Arrived First
  • Two More Joined In After

At the outset of the Elbaf storyline in “One Piece,” readers were unsure about the battles that lay ahead due to the ambiguity surrounding the adversaries. It was uncertain who Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates would face in Elbaf, as the Giant Warrior Pirates were actually allies, while the New Giant Warrior Pirates served under them. This made it seem as though there was no opposition for them at the arc’s start. However, this situation shifted dramatically with One Piece chapter 1130, as the Celestial Dragons took action. Suddenly, two of their Holy Knights appeared in Elbaf and materialized within Aurust Castle.

Reflect on the advancements you’ve made. These include an exoskeleton, increased muscle mass, and improved speed – factors that boost your overall power.

Initially, it wasn’t evident what their aim was during this phase, but it became apparent that they aimed to gain control over Elbaf. The Holy Knights appeared to have a premeditated strategy. Firstly, they approached Loki, the Prince of Elbaf, proposing him a role within their ranks, making him a Celestial Dragon with the World Government’s full power backing him. Furthermore, he would rule over Elbaf and subsequently place it under the control of ten palms of the World Government. However, this didn’t transpire due to several factors, the most significant being Loki’s unwillingness to ally with the Holy Knights at all. To him, Celestial Dragons were abhorrent, so he refused any contact with them.

With their initial strategy for the Holy Knights falling through, they opted to bring in two additional members, altering their approach towards a different type of conquest. Shamrock Figarland and Gunko summoned another Holy Knight, but ended up with two instead. This was because Shamrock was needed back in Marijoa due to a request. Being a powerful figure and the Commander of the Holy Knights, it’s only logical that Shamrock Figarland would be called upon as the World Government grapples under immense pressure from the Revolutionary Army. As Shamrock departs, the remaining three Holy Knights find themselves in an engaging mission: they will employ their abilities to abduct children from Elbaf and transport them to the Holy Land. This means that the Straw Hat Pirates will likely cross paths with them at some point, and Sanji should prepare himself for a significant battle ahead.

Sanji’s First Fight In Elbaf

Sanji Could Fight Loki Alongside Luffy and Zoro

In the land of Elbaf, Sanji won’t limit himself to a single battle; indeed, there’s much more to his combat prowess yet to be seen. So far, Elbaf has been beneficial for him, but when it comes to fighting, he still holds many untapped potentials. Typically, all the Straw Hat Pirates get involved in multiple skirmishes across an arc at various points.

In Elbaf, things are expected to remain unchanged. Currently, Sanji is attending the banquet alongside the rest of the Straw Hat crew, indicating a forthcoming shift. If Luffy and Zoro return from wherever they are with the key to release Sanji, it’s plausible that Sanji might accompany them back to the Underworld upon his liberation. Given this scenario, it seems likely that the three strongest members of the Straw Hat Pirates – Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji – will encounter a battle with the monster residing in the Underworld known as Loki.

I’ve already accepted my fate. I’m not the same person you fought under the dome. — Sanji

Absolutely, it won’t be long before Loki is officially released and given freedom, which could lead to him demonstrating his formidable powers. At the same time, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji might have the opportunity to use their tremendous abilities to counteract Loki and his immense strength. It’s important to note that Loki has been portrayed as a destructive force capable of annihilating the world, so for such a danger, Oda will likely involve the strongest members of the crew in this battle. This could potentially mean Sanji stepping up to challenge the Accursed Prince.

Why Sanji Could Fight Saint Killingham Next

Sanji vs Killingham Could Be The Inevitable Fight

In terms of their individual battles within the larger conflict against Loki, it’s clear that the Straw Hat Pirates will handle their own skirmishes independently. For instance, Luffy may face off against Shamrock if he remains in Elbaf, while Zoro might engage with Sommers. It appears that Sanji’s adversary could be Saint Killingham Rimoshifu, considering his likely aerial combat skills seem to suit Sanji well. Similarly, Sommers being a swordsman suggests he will likely duel with Zoro.

In simple terms, Sanji won’t be able to battle Gunko, leaving Killingham as his only opponent in a fight. Killingham is exceptionally powerful due to being a Holy Knight and possessing the strength of an Awakened Mythical Zoan of the Kirin. Given that other Holy Knights can withstand opponents like Loki, they appear to be at least Admiral level, if not stronger. This battle could provide Sanji with his toughest challenge yet, and fans would eagerly anticipate it. The Wings of the Pirate King will likely prove formidable enough to face Yonko in this arc, causing their bounties to significantly increase.
