In an attempt to compensate for the departures of Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, the production team opted to revisit the past, concluding that moving forward meant going back in time.

Given the scenario, one might wonder if Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character Cici Cooper could reappear since Skeet Ulrich’s Billy Loomis and Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher have returned after their fates in Scream.
