Satisfactory 1.1 Update: New Features You Can’t Miss!

Summary

  • Satisfactory‘s 1.1 update will reach the experimental branch on April 1.
  • The upcoming patch brings Hypertube upgrades, new logistics options, and robust photo mode improvements, among other additions.
  • Controller support is also coming as part of the update, but Satisfactory’s console ports have been delayed, and are now planned to release after the 1.1 patch.

Coffee Stain Studios has shared details about the 1.1 update for the game Satisfactory, revealing features such as Hypertube upgrades, enhanced logistics options, and improved photo mode, along with other exciting new elements. These updates are set to be unveiled in a developer video, however, there’s some disappointing news for console gamers.

In September 2024, version 1.0 of the game “Satisfactory” was released, signifying the conclusion of nearly six years in early access. Although several minor updates have been rolled out since then, the 1.1 update will be its first significant overhaul following its exit from early access.

Coffee Stain Studios recently released a comprehensive overview on their YouTube channel about the upcoming update for the game ‘Satisfactory’. This nine-minute video expands upon the hints they dropped in the 1.1 teaser, which debuted mid-March 2025. The new features include a significantly upgraded photo mode with customizable camera movement, filters, character poses, and depth of field effects, among other enhancements. To give players an idea of the capabilities of these changes, Coffee Stain Studios mentioned that the entire 1.1 teaser was shot using the revamped photo mode.

Satisfactory Confirms Hyper Tube Upgrades and New Logistics Options for 1.1 Update

The developer has confirmed that the upcoming update for the game ‘Satisfactory’ will enhance some of its transportation systems. Notably, the Hypertubes are receiving several upgrades; for instance, three-way junctions will allow players to alter direction during travel by pressing E. Furthermore, the 1.1 update will introduce new logistics options such as vertical splitters and mergers that can be placed anywhere on lifts. Additionally, players will have the ability to adjust input priority levels to create “priority mergers” and fine-tune the flow of items in pipelines if there are overloads.

Satisfactory Is Getting Controller Support, But Its Console Ports Are Delayed

In the upcoming update, controller compatibility is a new feature added, making the game more console-like. However, it’s worth mentioning that Coffee Stain Studios has disclosed a delay in the release of the game on consoles. Originally slated to follow the exit from early access for Satisfactory, the console versions are now scheduled to launch after the 1.1 update.

The confirmed date for the next update is April 1st. This will be initially released on the experimental branch of the game on Steam. Coffee Stain Studios has yet to specify exactly how long they plan to maintain the update in testing mode before moving it to the main, stable version of the game.
