Jujutsu Kaisen has quickly become a global sensation and one of the most popular series in Weekly Shonen Jump. When the original manga finished in 2024, fans immediately missed it, but a continuation was soon announced. Creator Gege Akutami is teaming up with artist Yuji Iwasaki for a sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, which takes place 68 years after the events of the original story.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been very popular with fans, and many consider it to be one of Gege’s best stories. However, it looks like the series might be ending soon. Recent chapters on Manga Plus labeled the fights between Dabura and Yuka, and Tsurugi and Maru, as the “Final Battles,” suggesting the story is nearing its conclusion. It’s likely only 5-6 chapters remain.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Manga Is Ending Soon
Gege Akutami Planned A Three-Volume Release
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been a fantastic continuation of the story, and many fans believe it’s even better than the original manga. Set 68 years in the future, Modulo picks up where Gege Akutami left off. From the beginning, it was known that this series would be relatively short—Akutami originally planned for around three volumes. Now over 20 chapters in, it’s clear the story is nearing its conclusion.
The major conflicts in the series are coming to a close. Maru’s battle with Tsurugi has already finished, and the biggest fight of all, between Yuka Okkotsu and Dabura, is nearing its end. Because official sources at Manga Plus labeled these as “Final Battles,” their conclusion signals that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is ending soon.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Could Have 5-7 Chapters Left
While there’s no confirmed end date for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, the series is nearing its conclusion. It’s currently in its final stages and likely has only 5 to 8 chapters remaining, potentially wrapping up in the next two months. We should have a clearer idea of the exact end date very soon.
Now that the major fights are over in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, all that remains is to wrap up the story’s main themes. Gege, the author, needs to resolve the conflict between humans and Simurians and bring about a sense of peace. While the ending might be sad, it has the potential to resolve many of the problems within the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
Modulo Could Be The Last Manga Content For The Jujutsu Kaisen Franchise
The main Jujutsu Kaisen story finished in 2024, and the current arc, Modulo, is expected to wrap up in the next month or two. Fans will likely ask Gege Akutami if he plans to continue the series, but right now it seems like this is the end for the popular franchise he created. Unless Akutami decides to continue writing, JJK Modulo will be the final chapter, marking the end of an amazing series for its fans.
Gege Could Make A Sequel Set Between Jujutsu Kaisen and Modulo
It feels like Jujutsu Kaisen is nearing its conclusion, but I think there’s still so much story potential left. Gege Akutami could definitely expand on the world he’s created if he chose to. The story already jumps forward 68 years between the main series and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and I’m sure fans would be fascinated to learn what happened during all that time. There’s a real opportunity for a compelling follow-up, perhaps even continuing the story with the original characters, but as of now, there haven’t been any announcements about that. It seems Gege is currently planning to finish the story and move on, which is a little sad to hear.
