Say Goodbye To My Hero Academia Forever

For years, *My Hero Academia* was incredibly popular and captured the hearts of many fans. While everyone knew the series would eventually end, it was still difficult when creator Kohei Horikoshi concluded the manga in late 2024. Although some fans had mixed feelings about how it finished, they did receive extra content like a fanbook afterward. Now, the series is officially over, and it’s highly unlikely Horikoshi will return to *My Hero Academia* with any significant new material. This has been confirmed as he’s beginning a new manga, signaling a final farewell to the world of *My Hero Academia* once it begins.

My Hero Academia’s Manga Ended in 2024

  • Horikoshi Has Released the Last of the Extra Content
  • Fans Only Have the Anime To Look Forward To

My Hero Academia was a hugely popular action series of the 2010s. It became one of the best-selling manga of all time, with over 100 million copies sold worldwide. The series recently ended with a dramatic final battle between Deku and Shigaraki.

Though the main story concluded, many fans were curious about what happened after the war, and several questions lingered. Thankfully, the creator, Horikoshi, addressed this with extra content – a fan book, art book, a special one-shot chapter, and even an art exhibit – which pleased most viewers. These additions provided answers and revealed important details, including the romantic relationship between Izuku and Ochaco, and updated hero rankings. However, this marks the final set of information fans will receive about the series, as Horikoshi intends to move on from *My Hero Academia*.

Horikoshi Will Start a New Manga Eventually

A New Series Separate from MHA

My Hero Academia is Kohei Horikoshi’s most popular work, coming after several of his earlier projects were cancelled. Now that My Hero Academia is finished, Horikoshi wants to begin a new manga. While details are scarce, it’s certain this new series won’t be connected to MHA. It will be a completely new story, and many My Hero Academia fans are already excited to follow along when it’s released.

Question: Are you considering doing another manga?

I’m already developing the idea for my next project. There’s something I always wanted to explore but couldn’t within *My Hero Academia*, and I’m excited to focus on that now. I’m aiming to launch this new series in *Weekly Shonen Jump*, so I’m currently brainstorming and figuring out how to make it a strong submission.

Once this new manga starts, Horikoshi won’t be able to continue working on My Hero Academia. He wouldn’t have time for the extra events he did this year, and it would likely signal the end of one of the most beloved manga series ever.

The *My Hero Academia* manga has finished its run, with a total of 431 chapters available to read on Manga Plus. While the manga is complete, the anime is still ongoing and its final season is expected to premiere later this year. You can watch the anime on Crunchyroll.
