Naruto Uzumaki is a central figure in both the Naruto and Boruto series. While Boruto focuses on a new generation, Naruto remains incredibly popular and important to the ninja world, and fans widely acknowledge his lasting impact.

The Boruto series hasn’t been very favorable to Naruto. While he initially appeared incredibly strong, he’s consistently lost his powers, and now fans are seeing his most powerful form disappear after many years. In Boruto, most of Naruto’s transformations have been taken away, which is disappointing for viewers. Hopefully, the series will introduce new abilities for Naruto in the future, as he really needs them now.

Naruto’s Strongest Transformation Was Baryon Mode

  • A Power That Overwhelms Even The Otsutsuki
  • An Ability Similar To Nuclear Fusion

Most fans agree that Naruto’s most powerful form is Baryon Mode. However, this transformation was very short-lived, as it could only be used a single time. During his fight with Isshiki Otsutsuki, it became obvious that Naruto and Sasuke were outmatched. Naruto realized that even with the powers of the Six Paths, he wasn’t strong enough to defeat Isshiki, who was on a completely different level. That’s why Kurama proposed using the risky power of Baryon Mode.

Naruto would combine his own power with Kurama’s, creating a completely new energy source. This energy would be incredibly powerful, surpassing even Isshiki’s strength.

This power is incredible – it should be far stronger than anything he possesses. However, it comes with a serious cost. The key thing to understand is that it drains our life force. Because our chakra is linked, any power created by sacrificing our lifespan also takes years off of his life when we use it. That’s what makes Baryon Mode so powerful. — Kurama to Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto’s incredibly powerful Baryon Mode worked by using nuclear fusion. This is what allowed him to surpass even Isshiki in terms of raw strength, making him arguably the strongest character in the Naruto universe aside from Shibai Otsutsuki. While Baryon Mode granted him immense power, it came at a cost: it reduced the lifespan of anyone he touched. This explains why Isshiki was defeated so decisively when Naruto activated it.

Using Baryon Mode came at a terrible cost: Kurama died right after Naruto used it. Losing Kurama devastated Naruto, leaving him emotionally broken, which ultimately led to him being sealed away.

Baryon Mode Is Unusable For Naruto Now

Naruto can’t use Baryon Mode without Kurama, and even if he could, it would ultimately be fatal due to how the power-up works. It’s not a sustainable ability and isn’t considered a true transformation by most fans, as it’s a one-time use. When considering Naruto’s strongest form, Six Paths Sage Mode is the clear choice.

Naruto Also Lost Six Paths Sage Mode

  • Kurama’s Death Likely Broke Naruto’s Link To The Tailed Beasts
  • His Six Paths Powers Seem To Have Vanished

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki received the power of the Six Paths Sage Mode from the Sage of Six Paths himself. The Sage split his power between Naruto and Sasuke Uchiha, with Sasuke gaining the Rinnegan in his left eye. Naruto specifically received the Sage’s life force and the ability to use Six Paths Senjutsu. When combined with his existing Tailed Beast Chakra, this created Naruto’s unique Six Paths Sage Mode transformation.

Naruto was capable of using Six Paths Sage Mode even without Kurama’s power, though it was most effective when he combined both. This mode allowed him to battle incredibly strong opponents like Madara and Kaguya, and he later used it to easily defeat Momoshiki. However, with Kurama gone and his connection to the other Tailed Beasts broken, Naruto can no longer access this powerful form, meaning fans must accept that this transformation is no longer available to him.

Fans Want Naruto To Get A Big Power Up

It’s become obvious that Naruto Uzumaki needs to get stronger in the Boruto series. Losing Kurama means he can no longer use powerful forms like Baryon Mode or Six Paths Sage Mode. Currently, his only ability is regular Sage Mode, which isn’t strong enough to face tough opponents – we saw this when Code attacked Konoha and Naruto was unable to help.

It’s important to remember that during the time skip, Sasuke surpassed Naruto in strength. This is a significant challenge for Naruto, as he now needs to close the gap. He typically gets stronger by unlocking new transformations, and right now, the best path forward for him is to reconnect with the remaining Tailed Beasts and form new bonds, now that Kurama is gone.

If Naruto had the chakra of eight Tailed Beasts, he might be able to use a limited form of the Six Paths Sage Mode. While this would make him less powerful overall, he would still be a formidable opponent when facing the challenges in the Boruto series.

To become more powerful, he could also look for advanced ninja technology, like a prosthetic hand that would let him do things he couldn’t before. Either way, Naruto needs to improve quickly, and fans are getting impatient for the story to move forward.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the continuation of the Boruto story, created by Mikio Ikemoto and overseen by Masashi Kishimoto. Picking up three years after the events of the Omnipotence arc, the series focuses on Boruto Uzumaki’s quest to protect the world, alongside his complicated relationship with Kawaki.
