This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
One Piece fans were really excited for chapter 1162 this week, and for good reason – it was shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated chapters ever. One Piece chapter 1162 was going to pick up where things left off in God Valley, following last week’s events where Rayleigh managed to save Shakuyaku from the World Government. Although Shakky was rescued, there’s still much more of the story to be told. One Piece Chapter 1162 promised a possible battle between legendary figures like Roger, Garp, and Rocks, and understandably, fans couldn’t wait to see how it would all play out and finally learn the full story of what happened at God Valley 38 years ago.
Disappointingly, viewers will need to be patient to learn what unfolds in God Valley. It has officially been confirmed that the One Piece manga will be paused unexpectedly, meaning fans will have to temporarily step away from the story – for a minimum of two weeks, and potentially longer.
One Piece Chapter 1162 Faces A Sudden Delay
Fans Say Goodbye To Manga For Two Weeks

- One Piece 1162 has been delayed for unknown reasons
- Fans suspect it could be because of Oda’s health
One Piece Chapter 1162 was originally scheduled for release this Sunday. Many fans anticipated it would be available on October 5, 2025. However, there’s been an unexpected delay. Although Eiichiro Oda didn’t intend to take a break, One Piece won’t be included in this week’s issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. This means that One Piece fans will have to wait before the next chapter is released.
It’s currently unknown why One Piece is facing a delay. However, it doesn’t seem to be due to the typical break taken by Oda. For dedicated One Piece fans, these breaks aren’t unexpected; they’re actually built into the release schedule. Oda generally takes a break after publishing around 3 chapters, and occasionally after just 2 if he’s feeling particularly exhausted – excluding the standard breaks published in Jump magazine.
This pause is unusual, though. Eiichiro Oda didn’t intend for a break to happen on October 5th. The lack of a new One Piece chapter on October 5, 2025, strongly suggests that Oda’s health is the reason for the hiatus. While the specifics are still unknown, fans are hoping Oda is doing well and in good spirits and that he gets the time he needs to rest and recover if he’s facing any health challenges.
One Piece Should Return After Two Weeks
One Piece Chapter 1162 Will Continue The God Valley Incident

Since One Piece chapter 1162 has been delayed, the manga is now expected to return on October 12, 2025. This means we should see more of the God Valley Incident in about two weeks. However, the delay could be longer depending on the reason. If Eiichiro Oda is experiencing health problems, One Piece might need a more extended break. But most likely, Oda is simply exhausted, particularly after working on many full-color spreads recently. Fans are wishing Oda a speedy recovery.
New chapters of One Piece are typically released on Sundays for most fans. While the chapter comes out at 12AM JST on Monday in Japan, the majority of readers outside of Japan will be able to access it on Sunday. Currently, the exact release date for One Piece Chapter 1162 hasn’t been announced. Fans can enjoy the chapter without cost on Manga Plus.
