Say Hello To Boruto’s New Itachi Uchiha

This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

With each new chapter, *Boruto: Two Blue Vortex* is proving to be a hit with fans. While the *Boruto* series initially faced criticism for its storylines, *Two Blue Vortex* has turned things around completely. A particularly interesting change is the way the main character, Boruto, is presented – as a flawed and sometimes disliked figure. Surprisingly, the series has even brought back Itachi Uchiha, but with a twist: he’s now manifested within Boruto Uzumaki himself, the story’s new protagonist.

Boruto starts out seeming immature and entitled, but he’s grown tremendously throughout the story. He’s become a true defender of his village, willing to put himself at risk for the people he cares about. In many ways, Boruto embodies the spirit of a selfless hero, facing misunderstandings and even being seen as a villain – much like Itachi Uchiha, and solidifying his place as a key figure in the Naruto series.

Boruto Uzumaki Is The New Itachi Uchiha Of The Series

Boruto Sacrificed Everything Like Itachi

  • Itachi was a protector from the shadows
  • Boruto sacrificed his honor and life for Konoha

Itachi Uchiha is consistently ranked among the most popular characters in the Naruto series, and for good reason. Many fans consider him *the* most beloved character. He placed second in the official Naruto Global Popularity Poll, demonstrating the huge amount of love he receives from fans. The primary reason for this is his ultimate selflessness and willingness to sacrifice everything for others.

Self-sacrifice. That is the true essence of a shinobi. — Itachi Uchiha

Most people saw Itachi as a villain, and he allowed that reputation to stick, all to protect his village. Everything he did, from wiping out his clan and taking the blame, to joining the Akatsuki and pretending to be an enemy, was motivated by a desire to safeguard the peace established by previous Hokage. He even killed his own parents as part of this plan. While his actions were extreme, he believed they were necessary for the greater good of the village.

In the *Boruto* series, Boruto Uzumaki has stepped into this challenging position. Once celebrated as a prodigy throughout Konoha, his life was turned upside down when a powerful force appeared. Boruto was falsely accused of killing the Seventh Hokage and labeled a traitor, becoming hated and hunted across the ninja world. Despite this, he secretly protects the village, much like Itachi did before him. He’s a ninja who has lost his good name, having given up everything for his loved ones. Though he tries to prove his innocence, he keeps moving forward, understanding that true ninja values lie in sacrifice and determination.

Boruto Is Overpowered Like Itachi

Both Appear To Be Villains But Are Heroes in Their Own Right

Boruto Uzumaki, like Itachi before him, is exceptionally powerful. Both are considered geniuses of their time. Itachi was incredibly strong, even frightening powerful opponents like Pain and Obito. Similarly, Boruto is currently humanity’s greatest defense against the Otsutsuki clan, making him comparable to Itachi Uchiha.
