I’m a huge fan of villains, and Ryomen Sukuna from *Jujutsu Kaisen* is easily one of the best – truly, Akutami-sensei really nailed his character! He’s legendary as the most powerful sorcerer ever, and everyone talks about how he’s Gojo’s equal. It actually took a massive team effort to even *contain* him during the Shinjuku Incident! And honestly, the fact that Yuji Itadori was the one who ultimately defeated him? That instantly made Yuji a major player in the series. It was such a pivotal moment!

After 68 years, Japan is facing a new danger: the Simurians, an alien race. While their full capabilities are still unknown, they’re already proving to be powerful fighters with a natural talent for Jujutsu. The creator of *Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo*, Gege Akutami, has confirmed their King is as strong as Sukuna. Recently, in Chapter 6 of the series, the Simurian King’s name was revealed to be Dabura.

Currently, in the world of *Jujutsu Kaisen*, the strongest character is widely considered to be the recently introduced Dabura. He’s rumored to be exceptionally powerful. Although we haven’t seen Dabura fight yet, we can get a sense of his strength by looking at the abilities of those who have reacted to him.

Dabura is comparable to Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful curse from the past. In fact, with an army of 50,000 sorcerers, he may be an even greater danger than Sukuna. His individual power is so immense that Japan believes they would be unable to defeat him in a war.

Akutami says this moment was the inspiration for “Mojuro,” a story that started with no clear direction. After a lot of planning, it finally took shape. It’s planned as a short series, lasting around six months and collected into approximately three volumes.

Dabura is the most powerful of the Simurians, making his strength easy to recognize. In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 6, fans finally saw Maru’s incredible power. He’s definitely stronger than a typical Special Grade. Maru’s cursed technique lets him manipulate the laws of physics and change matter at will. Surprisingly, Maru isn’t even the strongest – his brother, Cross, is likely equally powerful, and Dabura surpasses them both. Considering Maru’s strength, it’s hard to imagine how powerful Dabura truly is.

Dabura Should Be On Gojo And Sukuna’s Level

Dabura’s Cursed Technique Hasn’t Been Revealed Yet

It’s likely that Dabura is as powerful as Gojo and Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen. Even Maru has a potentially incredible cursed technique that, if developed further by the author, could rival techniques like Shrine and Limitless. If Maru reaches that level of power, Dabura could potentially be the strongest character in the series. We haven’t seen Dabura’s cursed technique yet, but it’s expected to be revealed soon by the author, Gege Akutami.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action manga that recently concluded its run in late 2024. A sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is now being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The latest chapter, number 7, will be available on Manga Plus for free on October 19, 2025.
