This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
One Piece’s Elbaf arc has shown us many interesting new characters, but Rocks D. Xebec is definitely the one fans are most curious about. Rocks actually appeared in One Piece before the Elbaf arc, but we only learned the full story about him during this arc.
Fans learned more about Rocks, and the story also highlighted his lasting impact. Essentially, Oda revealed that Blackbeard, currently one of the Yonko, is actually the son of Rocks D. Xebec. However, Oda has emphasized that Blackbeard isn’t the next Rocks, despite their familial connection.
Rocks Was A Monster Of The Old Era
- Rocks Was Monstrously Powerful
- He Could Easily Kill Even Admirals
When discussing the powerful figures from One Piece’s past, Rocks D. Xebec is always mentioned. He’s considered an incredibly talented pirate, and a major threat, even compared to other legendary characters. Rocks’s reign of influence began roughly 56 years ago, starting with a daring infiltration of the Holy Land Marijoa, eventually leading him to the Room of Flowers, where he met with Imu. Remarkably, Rocks left Marijoa without a scratch, and even defeated an Admiral before his battle with Harald.
I heard the man claim he was a follower of Davy Jones. He didn’t elaborate beyond that, seemingly aware of his limitations. But as he left, he made a chilling promise: “I will be back…right here!!” – That’s how the narrator described the meeting between Rocks D. Xebec and Saint Imu.
After this happened, Rocks traveled the oceans looking for a crew, and he ultimately managed to form the Rocks Pirates. He declared that he would lead them to the very top of the world. However, as fans are aware, Rocks died 38 years ago at God Valley. Now, his son, Blackbeard carries on his father’s ambition by commanding the Saber of Xebec and ruling the Pirate Island.
Rocks’s Blood Is Carried By Blackbeard, But Loki Truly Idolized Him
Loki Is The Next Rocks
A lot of fans think that Rocks’s son, Blackbeard, will continue his father’s work, and they have a point. Blackbeard wants to be the King of the World, mirroring Rocks’ ambition, and he currently governs Pirate Island. However, Rock’s core ideals – prioritizing freedom above everything, and achieving dominance by overthrowing the Government, are actually embodied by Loki.
That single glimpse of Rocks changed Loki’s life, giving him a reason to keep going. – Narrator on Loki finding a reason to live after meeting Rocks
From the very beginning, Loki was deeply influenced by Rock’s beliefs and played a key role in freeing him from his constraints, ultimately saving him. Loki isn’t necessarily striving to rule the world, but he *is* driven to dominate and achieve power, and his self-perception as the Sun God clearly demonstrates this ambition.
Loki Wields A Hammer Just Like Rocks
Actually, Loki uses a strong hammer, and though it might not be obvious, the connection is quite clear. Rocks’s attacks have the impact of a hammer, even though he fights with a blade. Loki made a different choice – he opted to use a unique hammer called Ragnir.
