It feels like new video games are released constantly! Every week brings more role-playing games, open-world adventures, and horror experiences. The week of October 20th to 26th is especially busy with major releases – it could be the biggest week of the year for gaming, offering something for all types of players.
No matter what gaming system you prefer, you have plenty of choices. With so much negativity in the news and the gaming world lately, it’s good to focus on what matters: the games you’re looking forward to. So, let’s highlight some of the most exciting upcoming games that everyone will be talking about soon.
Ninja Gaiden 4
The Return Of The Hack And Slash King (And His Successor?)
The *Ninja Gaiden* series is back after about ten years! While *Ninja Gaiden 2 Black* was a pleasant surprise and *Ragebound* felt like a classic, fans have been eagerly awaiting *Ninja Gaiden 4*. This new installment aims to firmly establish Ryu Hayabusa – along with a new character – as the best in the action-packed hack-and-slash genre. Interestingly, Ryu appears to share the spotlight, with a fresh face named Yakumo taking the lead role.
What makes this project especially thrilling is the collaboration between Team Ninja, who own the original idea, and PlatinumGames, the acclaimed developers of games like *Bayonetta*. This pairing looks fantastic on paper, and early previews suggest the game lives up to the excitement.
Jurassic World Evolution 3
Dinosaurs Will Always Be Cool
Frontier Developments consistently delivers solid games, so you generally know what to expect. Their *Jurassic World Evolution* series is a prime example – the first game successfully demonstrated the potential, and the sequel has become a standout title in the management game genre over the past few years.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 doesn’t try to drastically change the formula that made the first game successful. Instead, it builds on what worked by adding more dinosaurs, ways to expand your park, and helpful tools. It also introduces new features, like dinosaur breeding, and features Jeff Goldblum in the campaign, which promises to be entertaining.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
This Should Be October 2025’s Biggest Game
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is expected to be a major release in October 2025, potentially the biggest game of the year. However, it’s received a lot of negative attention leading up to its launch. It will either be a fantastic surprise or a major letdown. Regardless, the game is guaranteed to get a lot of attention when it releases on the 21st, especially considering it’s been over twenty years since the original Bloodlines.
Look, I’m usually hyped for RPGs, but I’d say hold off on buying this one until we see some reviews. That being said, if you’re like me and love getting lost in a good role-playing game where your choices actually matter, *Bloodlines 2* sounds like exactly what we’ve been waiting for. It’s set in a really cool, fractured Seattle, and you play as an Elder vampire! At the start, you can choose from six different vampire clans, and each one has totally unique powers, so you can really tailor your gameplay to how *you* want to play.
PowerWash Simulator 2
Clean And Simple (And Co-Op)
Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best. *PowerWash Simulator* lets you run your own power washing business, cleaning everything from cars to buildings. It’s a solid business management game, but what really stands out is how surprisingly relaxing and addictive it is. *PowerWash Simulator 2* expands on that formula, offering even more jobs, tools, and locations to clean, plus a customizable home base – a great addition for players.
Similar to the first game, PW2 focuses on playing with others. It features a two-player co-op story mode and a free mode where up to six players can team up. While the co-op mode is probably the best way to experience the game, it should still be fun for those who prefer to play alone.
Dispatch
A New Type Of Superhero Game
After a successful demo, the game *Dispatch* has quickly become very popular and is now one of the most awaited releases of the last three months of the year. It launches on October 22nd, but instead of releasing all at once, AdHoc will release it in episodes, with two new episodes coming out each week until November 12th.
Dispatch combines the narrative focus of Telltale games with strategic gameplay. You play as a retired superhero who now works as a dispatcher, directing active heroes and choosing the best one for each situation. It’s a fantastic idea with a lot of potential for fun! Ultimately, the game’s success will depend on how well its characters are developed and written, and early signs suggest a high quality in both areas.
Honorable Mention: Vein (Entering Early Access)
3D Project Zomboid Enters Early Access
According to Steamdb.info, *Vein* is the third most wishlisted game for next week, behind only *Bloodlines 2* and *Dispatch*. That’s quite an achievement for an independent game still under development, especially considering its ambitious scope. Essentially, *Vein* reimagines the gameplay of *Project Zomboid* with fully 3D graphics, which sounds incredibly promising. The game has generally received positive feedback, and it has the potential to become a major player in the survival multiplayer genre.
Since this game is still in early access, expect some bugs, incomplete features, and areas that aren’t fully polished. It’s still being developed, so things aren’t perfect yet.
