As a long-time Scooby-Doo fan and avid gamer, I’m beyond excited about Matthew Lillard’s latest tease of a new Scooby-Doo project! Shaggy has been a beloved character of mine since I first watched the classic cartoons as a kid. I still remember playing those old Scooby-Doo video games, some good, some bad, but always fun.
Actor Matthew Lillard, who’s known for voicing Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, has given a hint that a new Scooby-Doo project is brewing, and it seems to be something other than a movie or cartoon series. Lillard initially brought Shaggy to life in the live-action Scooby-Doo films from the early 2000s, and since Casey Kasem retired from acting in 2009, he has voiced Shaggy in almost all animated Scooby-Doo productions.
As a child growing up in the ’80s and ’90s, I was a huge fan of Scooby-Doo. The cartoon series was one of my favorites, and I spent countless hours watching reruns on Saturday mornings. Unfortunately, most of those early video games didn’t live up to the high expectations I had for them. They were clumsy and unpolished, with frustrating controls and repetitive gameplay.
