After several months of being intrigued about the cast for “Scream 7”, even more well-known figures are joining the lineup for this forthcoming horror follow-up. This new group now includes a host on a widely recognized talk program.
It’s been announced that Mark Consuelos, recognized for co-hosting “Live with Kelly and Mark” with Kelly Ripa as well as his acting roles, has joined the cast of Scream 7. While he is known to many as a popular daytime talk show host, Consuelos has also made significant strides in film and television. Some of his recent appearances include Biff de la Peña on “The Girls on the Bus,” Mabel Mora’s father on “Only Murders in the Building,” Hiram Lodge on “Riverdale,” and Spivey over five episodes in the gripping season of “American Horror Story: Asylum.
According to Deadline, specifics about which character Consuelos will play in Scream 7 remain undisclosed. Joining a star-studded ensemble that includes Anna Camp from Pitch Perfect, Community’s Joel McHale, and Mckenna Grace, who has appeared in films like Annabelle Comes Home, the two Ghostbusters sequels, and Malignant, fans are left wondering if Consuelos will embody an antagonist or protagonist. It’s worth noting that the cast of Scream 7 is quite extensive, featuring both returning actors from previous installments and new faces. Despite concerns over a potentially overwhelming cast in Scream 6, the large number of characters turned out to be beneficial for the movie, making it difficult to predict who the Ghostface killer might be this time around.
Although I haven’t had many opportunities to be part of horror productions, I truly relished my role in American Horror Story season 2. Back in 2012, I shared this with Entertainment Weekly:
I’ve acted in plays and portrayed complex roles, which I’ve found enjoyable. However, in the world of acting, not every chance comes along to reprise such roles.
He additionally expressed that he finds it beneficial whenever one gets an opportunity to try something new or step out of their usual image. This suggests that he relishes taking on diverse acting roles, and fans of “Scream” should catch his exceptional performance in the acclaimed Ryan Murphy horror anthology to prepare for the upcoming slasher sequel.
Although Consuelos has been featured in numerous recent TV shows, it’s been about a decade since he last appeared in a movie. He portrayed Ian Cox in the 2016 fantasy-comedy film “Nine Lives,” and he was also a part of the 2016 drama “All We Had,” where he both starred and shared the screen with Katie Holmes, who also directed the movie.
Audience members can discover if Consuelos portrays a hero, antagonist, or perhaps one of several Ghostfaces in the upcoming “Scream 7”. This film is scheduled to hit theatres on February 27th, 2026.
