Previously this month, it was officially announced that Scott Foley would join the expanding cast of “Scream 7”, the upcoming movie in the renowned horror series. Though specifics about his character are being kept under wraps, it’s also been confirmed that an actor from “Scream 3” who played a significant role will reprise his part as Roman Bridger in this new film. Now, the actor has revealed at least one detail concerning Roman and given some insight into what he’ll be engaged in when he appears in the forthcoming movie.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can’t hide my excitement about the upcoming “Scream 7”. Known for its witty humor and insightful commentary on slasher films, this franchise has always kept me on the edge of my seat with its masterful blend of suspense, scares, and surprising plot twists. The return of Neve Campbell’s character Sidney Prescott is a welcome news, especially since she was absent in “Scream 6”. We’re also expecting to meet her husband, portrayed by Joel McHale. This seventh installment seems to be bringing back several villains from the series, adding an exciting layer of anticipation. It appears that Roman Bridger, who met his end in “Scream 3”, is making a comeback, albeit not in a significant role according to recent updates.
Roman Bridger Will Have Small Role In Scream 7
Despite some fans questioning where character Roman might slot into the storyline, Foley clarified his role in Scream 7 during an interview on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, revealing he discussed it with director Kevin Williamson.
I recently chatted with Kevin Williamson, known for penning the initial Scream films and directing the current one. He invited me to return and perform a minor role, and I was thrilled at the prospect of delving back into my character, despite his demise in the first movie.
In his debut in the Scream series, Foley portrayed Roman – a character introduced in the third installment. His recent statement about “sort of” revisiting this role could suggest that Roman might appear as a flashback, hallucination, or another non-physical representation within one of the characters’ experiences. It’s unclear at this point if it’s just a figurative expression he used or if we’ll see him back in action.
Matthew Lillard has affirmed his participation in Scream 7, despite the fact that his character, Stu Macher, was seemingly killed in the first movie since he was one of the original Ghostfaces along with his high school buddy Billy Loomis. Similar to how Loomis reappeared in Scream 5 as a manifestation of Sam’s (Melissa Barrera’s character) psychosis due to discovering her connection to the serial killer, it appears that Stu and Roman may also resurface in a similar manner. The role Lillard is expected to play suggests that his presence will be brief, possibly appearing just once or twice, rather than being a major player in the plot of Scream 7.
