I think that Cox’s comments brings up a major problem with Scream 7: the movie needs more legacy characters than just Sidney Prescott. In “Scream 2”, “Scream 3”, and “Scream 4”, Gale maintains a similar role, although her involvement lessens in the 2022 version of the film. Due to Gale’s move to New York City for hosting a morning show and pursuing a new life, she and Dewey eventually divorce.
