Season 2 of The Last of Us gets trailer and release date

Today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Neil Druckmann, who is a co-creator, screenwriter, and executive producer, revealed that the second installment of the Emmy-winning HBO original series THE LAST OF US will make its debut in April. This seven-episode season can be streamed on Max and HBO.

Five years following the incidents from the initial series, Joel and Ellie encounter a resurgence of their past, igniting a dispute among them as they navigate a world that’s become even more treacherous and volatile than the one they abandoned. For enthusiasts of this series, the likely developments in this upcoming season should come as no surprise. One particularly impactful sequence within the franchise, arguably its most memorable, is set to unfold in this fresh run of episodes.

In the exciting second season of this series, I’m thrilled to be back alongside Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. We’ll also welcome some fresh faces like Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. And to add to the excitement, Catherine O’Hara will be gracing us with a guest appearance!
