The Seattle Seahawks’ famous “Legion of Boom” defense recently got back together, but this time to play the video game Ready or Not. They’ve had some great moments while playing, and even picked up some real-life SWAT techniques that helped improve their strategy in the game.
Originally launched on PC in early access, the game Ready or Not gained even more popularity this year when it came to consoles on July 15th. VOID Interactive released the tactical first-person shooter for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, letting fans experience realistic SWAT scenarios in the Los Suenos area. Players generally enjoyed the game, praising its immersive gameplay where quick decisions and accuracy are crucial – often, just a few bullets can determine success or failure.
Seattle Seahawks’ Legion of Boom Reunites to Play Ready or Not
The famous ‘Legion of Boom’ – former Seattle Seahawks players Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Cliff Avril, Walter Thurmond, and Michael Bennett – recently tested their teamwork skills by playing the tactical shooter game Ready or Not. But first, they got a crash course in real-life SWAT tactics! With training from professional instructor Rick Anzalda, the group participated in a simulated operation mirroring the game’s scenarios. Despite a few funny mistakes, they learned key SWAT procedures, like how to breach a door and handle difficult, unavoidable situations.
The Legion of Boom team applied skills learned from actual SWAT training to the challenging game Ready or Not. They traded their helmets for headsets and worked together to clear rooms, just as they’d practiced with Anzalda. Though their initial attempt earned a failing grade due to one team member’s death, they improved and ultimately achieved an A grade. Cliff Avirl highlighted the importance of teamwork, noting it’s one of the most compelling aspects of Ready or Not.
The popular tactical shooter Ready or Not recently celebrated a special challenge featuring the Seattle Seahawks’ Legion of Boom, and continues to gain traction with players on Steam. Developer VOID Interactive also confirmed the game has seen strong performance on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 since its launch on those consoles. As of September 8th, over three million console players have enjoyed Ready or Not. Remarkably, when combined with PC players – where the game originally launched – the total player base exceeds 13 million, a significant achievement considering Ready or Not is not a free-to-play game.
The future looks promising for first-person shooter games, especially as we approach 2026. The game Ready or Not recently received significant updates in July and September, fixing bugs and adding new missions and weapons for players on consoles and Steam Deck. With growing interest from gamers like the Legion of Boom community, it’s clear there’s a strong desire for even more content in the year ahead.
