The upcoming quest for you is titled “Mysteries of the Night,” where you’ll journey through three distinct regions, uncovering the truth behind Count Geonor’s descent into madness.
Clearfell And The Grelwood In Path Of Exile 2
In the fantasy game Path of Exile 2, your “The Secrets in the Dark” quest begins by conversing with Una at the Clearfell camp. Una reveals that the chaos originated from Count Geonor venturing into the Grelwood with his men. She then tasks you with investigating the area for clues, which leads to the goal of finding those elusive hints.
- Travel through Clearfel to the Grelwood
To get to Grelwood, you’ll need to pass by Clearfell, which fortunately lies immediately beyond the safe zone.
In Path of Exile 2, maps undergo random changes; however, the region known as Clearfell remains consistent. Upon entering this area, simply continue moving in a northeasterly direction, and you’ll ultimately come across the entrance to Grelwood.
Once you make it inside Grelwood, your objective changes to:
- Search the Grelwood for evidence of the Count’s activities
In the thrilling world of Path of Exile 2, navigating Grelwood can be quite the challenge as maps keep shifting. But fear not! Regardless of your starting point, my strategy is always to make a beeline for the heart of the area to discover the Tree of Souls and a Waypoint conveniently nestled beside it.
You can summon Una and speak to her next to the Tree of Souls. She explains that you must travel to the Red Vale, investigate its runes, and bring them back to Renly.
The Red Vale’s Obelisks Of Rust In Path Of Exile 2
To locate the entrance to the Red Vale in Path of Exile 2, you should head towards the direction opposite to where you initially arrived. If for instance, you entered the Grelwood from its easternmost point, then the Red Vale’s entrance will be found in the western part of the area.
Inside the Red Vale, your objective will change to:
- Search the Red Vale for Obelisks of Rust containing Runes of Power
In your search for the three Obelisks of Rust, you’ll likely find them in various locations, particularly clustered towards the center, with a river serving as an obstacle. By the way, discovering Refined Arms in that vicinity often suggests you’re moving in the correct direction.
The first two Obelisks of Rust summon many enemies that will crowd and overwhelm your character. However, the last one summons the Rust King who will also try to overwhelm your character with tons of enemies.
The Tree Of Souls In Path Of Exile 2
Once you’ve defeated the Rust King and gathered the runes, take them back to Renly. He’ll fashion three Rune Spikes using these very runes. Consequently, your mission’s goal will shift to this new task.
- Travel to the Grelwood
In Path of Exile 2, follow these steps: Puncture each Runic Seal on the Tree of Souls using the Spikes you have. Afterward, you’ll receive a new objective to head back to Clearfell encampment and converse with Una. Completing this will wrap up the Secrets in the Dark quest and initiate the Mysterious Shade quest.
