As a passionate gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for a solid boxing game, and Steel City Interactive’s “Undisputed” seemed like the answer. However, after witnessing a game-breaking glitch that turned an online bout into chaos, it’s clear that something needs to be addressed urgently. The community is calling out for the developers to fix some of the game’s most severe bugs, as these issues have tainted the overall experience. It’s disappointing because “Undisputed” was supposed to fill the void left by “Fight Night Champion”, but unfortunately, it’s fallen short due to a multitude of gameplay-related bugs and glitches that have left fans less than impressed.
Following nearly two years of early access, the game titled “Undisputed” was officially released in October 2024, garnering mixed reactions. Many players criticized it for missing features and insufficient updates since its early access phase. Published by Deep Silver and developed by Steel City Interactive, “Undisputed” is the first significant boxing game launched since 2011’s “Fight Night Champion.” Electronic Arts (EA) previously ruled the boxing video game industry with its “Fight Night” series, but the franchise has been inactive for more than a decade. Steel City aims to fill the void left in the market by providing an alternative.
Undisputed Players Call for Major Bug Fixes
Regrettably, even though it seemed like there was no rivalry in the boxing video game world for Undisputed, it launched with an overwhelming amount of bugs and gameplay problems. From players experiencing losses on their records because opponents mysteriously quit, to severe hit registration issues, the community of Undisputed players has been growing increasingly frustrated. Recently, a user named SlouchyCouch shared a bizarre clip from an online match they had, which was unfortunately cut short by a game-breaking bug. In the video, which you can watch below, my fighter somehow turned their back on the opponent and couldn’t turn back around again. This left me vulnerable to a flurry of body shots that I couldn’t block before I got knocked down due to the glitch in the gameplay.
The user claims that “Undisputed” requires significant repairs, a viewpoint shared by other gamers. Reddit user TheNotoriousMJT suggested that the publisher, Deep Silver, should consider issuing refunds due to the persistent bugs and malfunctions. Regrettably, Steel City Interactive has yet to provide any information regarding when a new “Undisputed” update might be available to address these problems. However, the last significant update was rolled out in December 2024, introducing various enhancements, fresh venues, cosmetics, and other features.
In addition to an update, Steel City Interactive recently launched a DLC pack for the game Undisputed, featuring Jake Paul, the former YouTuber-turned-boxer, which has been met with criticism by the community. This paid expansion, however, has not gone down well due to concerns that Steel City Interactive should be focusing on fixing the numerous bugs and glitches that have been impacting players’ online gaming experiences instead. As more issues surface daily, fans of the game are anxiously awaiting a major patch for Undisputed to resolve these problems.
