In Shackles of Fate, players must pull a spear from a dragon’s back. You can do this by riding the dragon, starting in Urdavah, Tashkalp. It requires precise timing when jumping from the bridge, and you’ll need to press specific buttons to succeed.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to successfully climb the dragon’s back, stay mounted, and remove the spear without falling – all within the world of Crimson Desert.
We suggest increasing your Stamina to at least Level 5 before you begin. Riding the dragon uses stamina, and the intense heat in the Crimson Desert will likely cause you to fall if your stamina isn’t high enough.
How to Climb Up the Dragon’s Back in Crimson Desert
- Head to Urdavah, a castle in Tashkalp. It’s where your objective should take you.
- Once on the long bridge, face north, and you’ll see the dragon flying towards you.
- If you miss the dragon or it’s not here, hold Options/Start to respawn the instance.
- As the dragon is about to head under the bridge, jump off and press Square to Fly.
- Hold L3 to use Axiom Force Lv 2 and grab the dragon’s back, then tap (don’t spam) Square to mount it.
Occasionally, the Axiom Force ability fails, causing you to fall instead of landing on the dragon. If this happens, please try the simpler steps outlined below.
- Jump off the bridge as the dragon approaches and use Square to Fly.
- Line up your Wings with the dragon’s head, and start flying towards it.
- You want to basically hit into the dragon, and this will automatically make you climb onto its back.
How to Remove the Spear from the Dragon’s Back in Crimson Desert
- Now that you’re on top of the dragon, you must remain on its back for a minute or so.
- Use L2/LT to cling to the dragon when it starts to spin, fly up, or nose-dive.
- Eventually, the game will ask you to “Focus the mind and purify the taint within using Focused Force Palm.”
- The objective now is to, while on the dragon’s back, use L3+R3 to enter Focus.
- In Focus, hold R3 to enter Focused Force Palm.
- Hold R3 until a glowing yellow orb appears on the dragon’s back, then release R3.
- This will begin a cutscene and end the mission.
