Shift Up Job Listings Hint at Possible Stellar Blade PC Port & Future Content

As a long-time gamer with a keen interest in action RPGs and Japanese role-playing games, I’m thrilled to hear that there might be a Stellar Blade PC port on the horizon. The game has been a massive hit since its release on PlayStation 5 last year, selling an estimated 1 million units as of June 2024.

I’ve noticed, as a dedicated fan following the latest gaming news on Reddit, that some intriguing job listings on Shift Up’s recruitment page seem to suggest the possibility of a PC port for Stellar Blade. While not explicitly stated, these listings allude to the need for expertise in PC development and optimization, fueling our excitement for this potential new release.

A job posting seeks a Combat Designer for PC project development. The qualifications asked for include experience in designing combat elements and handling data work for PCs.

With my extensive background in the industry and my passion for developing action games domestically, this invitation resonates deeply with me. It’s not every day that an opportunity like this comes along, and it seems that Stellar Blade might be the IP in question.

The PC release of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut in May 2024 received overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans. It appears that Sony is planning to bring more games like this to PC.

An extra mention from Reddit users, aside from the Combat Designer’s Stellar Blade listing, is that a Battle Designer appears to be responsible for developing “monster content” in the future. New monsters could be a sign of upcoming DLC and a possible sequel, as suggested by the earlier Stellar Blade development plan.

Stellar Blade first launched in April 2024, and it’s available now on PlayStation 5.
