In the game “Shinobi: Art of Vengeance,” Oboro Village serves as the starting point for Joe Musashi’s narrative. Interestingly, although it functions as a tutorial level, there are several hidden gems within it that gamers wouldn’t want to overlook.

In the Metroidvania-style layout of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, most of the game’s secrets are accessible only by using certain mechanics that require specific tools. Oboro Village follows suit, and if you want to uncover all its hidden treasures, here is a guide that reveals them all.

All Oboro Relics in Oboro Village

It’s advisable to uncover secrets in any level of “Shinobi: Art of Vengeance” game, once you’ve collected all the Ningis throughout the game first.

In the game “Shinobi: Art of Vengeance”, the Oboro Relics serve as items that help expand the Yokai Shopkeeper’s stock. Each level contains a total of five relics, some of which are strategically placed for easy discovery, but to collect all the Oboro Relics, you should be thorough in your exploration and leave no stone unturned.

  • An Oboro Relic can be found in an isolated room inside the dojo. From the Antechamber shrine, head to the far right side of the next room, and go down the path at the bottom floor. Drop down and follow the path to find a chest at the bottom.
  • One can be found to the left of the Village Ruins shrine, under a Yokai floor barrier (Sword Dive required).
  • Another is under another Yokai floor barrier at the bottom of the room containing the Attic shrine — this room leads to the Ankou Rift in the level. Head past the rift, then climb up the left side. This will lead you to a chest.
  • From the Collapsed Bridge shrine, go to the right, then keep following the way forward until you reach a large room with a chest above an overhang. You can reach that chest by jumping against the wall below, then double-jumping to the ledge, or by using the platforms above.
  • An Oboro Relic is practically given to players right before meeting the Yokai Shopkeeper. It can’t be missed.

All Elite Squad Encounters in Oboro Village

In simpler terms, Elite Squads represent intense battles with bands of adversaries within the game’s storyline. These battles often feature unique versions of common enemies you’ve met during the game. If you successfully defeat all these Elite Squads in a single level, you will unlock an exclusive Passive skill that enhances Joe’s capabilities.

  • The first Elite Squad encounter is above the Antechamber shrine. Climb up, then go to the ledge with the Yokai Barrier wall. Break it open with Cannon Punch, then start the Elite Squad fight by hitting the Oni mask.
  • The second Elite Squad is to the left of the Collapsed Bridge shrine. You can enter the area at any time, but in order to cross the lava at the bottom and do the rest of the obstacle course, you’ll need the Ninja Hook.

Oboro Village Ankou Rift Location

Completing ten Ankou Fissures opens up unique parkour challenges, and upon successful completion, you earn fragments of the enigmatic Dark Sword. Once you’ve conquered ten such fissures, you can wield this mystical weapon in battle.

Previously shared, I’ve discovered that the Ankou Rift in Oboro Village is tucked away near the Attic shrine. Descend to its depths, locate the Yokai floor barrier, and burst through it with a powerful Sword Dive. Continue your journey into the rift hidden within this secret room.

Oboro Village Secret Locations

In Oboro Village, it seems that the key mystery lies in mastering the Kunai Burst Ninpo technique. To acquire this skill, make your way to the Attic shrine and proceed directly left. This journey will present a challenging obstacle course where you’ll need to have the Ninja Claws equipped. Follow the spiky path through to its end to uncover the hidden Ninpo.

The second secret lies to the right of the Attic shrine. Use Sword Dive to shatter the obstacle, then seize the treasure concealed beneath.
