Summary
- WWE 2K25 promises an impressive post-launch experience.
- The game will launch with over 300 wrestlers, including previously unreleased wrestlers like Bloodline members and NXT Champion Oba Femi.
- Last year’s DLC for WWE 2K24 included multiple packs and bonus content, with some surprise wrestlers like Post Malone and Pat McAfee Show alums.
The upcoming game, WWE 2K25, has plans to unveil unexpected wrestling stars as downloadable content (DLC). One of its producers thinks these surprise additions will leave players amazed at their inclusion in the game. With just a few weeks until the release of WWE 2K25, fans are eagerly anticipating what the remainder of the year holds for this exciting expansion.
At its debut, the roster for WWE 2K25 is set to be the largest in the series yet, boasting over 300 distinct wrestlers. This impressive lineup includes alternate versions of some well-known superstars, as well as wrestlers who were recently let go by WWE. Unfortunately, approximately two dozen wrestlers and managers who were initially intended for WWE 2K24 will not be included in the game, among them being Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa from The Bloodline, Eric Rowan of the Wyatt Family, and current NXT Champion Oba Femi.
Initially, the lineup at the game’s release is strong, but producer Bryan Williams is particularly enthusiastic about the additional characters joining the game in 2025 through DLC. In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Williams hinted that he couldn’t reveal the DLC wrestlers just yet, but promised that announcements are on the horizon and fans will be taken aback by some of the new additions to the roster of WWE 2K25. As he stated in the interview, “We’re aiming high, we’re trying to achieve the impossible to make our DLC as thrilling and valuable post-launch as it can possibly be.
WWE 2K25 DLC Will Have Some Shocking Inclusions
For WWE 2K24, the DLC schedule unveiled last year consisted of five distinct packs dispatched from May to November. Each pack contained five new wrestlers, except for the Global Superstars pack that boasted seven and other perks such as MyFACTION superstar cards and one pack introducing The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart, as a manager. These wrestlers comprised the game’s Season Pass, yet there were some additional characters integrated into the roster through different avenues – like pre-order incentives or the acquisition of the Bray Wyatt Edition that became available in October.
Previous edition of the game featured unexpected wrestlers too, like Post Malone who was the game’s executive soundtrack producer, and members from Pat McAfee Pack, such as Boston Connor and A.J. Hawk, former cast members of the Pat McAfee Show. Some spectators anticipate that WWE’s collaboration with TNA might bring some of its wrestlers into WWE 2K25. Jordynne Grace, a former TNA Knockouts World Champion, was signed by WWE in late January but didn’t make it onto the game’s roster before that. However, she did appear with WWE while still under contract with TNA. Similarly, current TNA World Champion Joe Hendry stunned the wrestling community when he entered at the 15th spot in the Royal Rumble this month, only to be swiftly eliminated by Roman Reigns.
