I truly believe One Piece is the greatest shonen manga ever created! It’s not just my opinion either – it’s the best-selling manga of all time, with over 500 million copies sold! That’s at least 200 million more than anything else out there. And the anime? It’s fantastic! It’s really come into its own, especially over the last five years – the quality has improved so much.

One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy on his incredible journey to find the ultimate treasure, the One Piece. Even though it’s a very long story with hundreds of chapters, it remains consistently engaging. The series is filled with memorable and fascinating characters, which add to the fun. While it’s still ongoing, many fans consider One Piece to be superior to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

Main Character: Frieren

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a truly exceptional anime, easily one of the best released in the last decade. The adaptation is fantastic across the board, and many consider it to be Madhouse’s finest achievement yet – the team clearly poured their hearts into it. It surpasses even the highly-rated Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and has now taken its place as the top-ranked anime on MyAnimeList.

I’m completely hooked on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End! It follows Frieren, this incredibly powerful elf, as she starts a new adventure, really trying to learn from past mistakes and connect with the people she travels with. What I love most is how perfectly it balances everything – there’s funny stuff, exciting action, a really compelling story, and a world that just feels so rich and detailed. It’s seriously captivating!

Gintama

Main Character: Sakata Gintoki

While Gintama might not be the most well-known action anime, many fans consider it to be just as good, if not better, than more popular shows. It can sometimes seem like the series lacks a clear direction, but this is actually a deliberate choice by the creator. Viewers concerned about a lack of plot will find that everything eventually comes together.

Gintama centers around Sakata Gintoki and his Odd Jobs crew – Shinpachi and Kagura. They handle all sorts of strange requests, usually leading to funny situations. But they also get caught up in serious, challenging missions that push them to their limits.

Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter is widely considered a classic anime, adapted from Yoshihiro Togashi’s popular manga. It’s a favorite among shonen anime fans because it does everything well. The characters are compelling and complex, allowing the story to shift focus without losing audience interest. Plus, the plot is captivating and the power system is both original and enjoyable.

Gon Freecss, after living on an island for years, sets out to find his father. He enters the Hunter exams hoping to gain clues, and along the way, he makes some incredible friends. Together, they face the challenges of becoming Hunters.

Mob Psycho 100

Main Character: Mob

Mob Psycho 100 is a fantastic anime. Although it falls into the action-packed ‘shonen’ category, it cleverly avoids typical clichés, which is a great thing. The show has a small, well-developed cast, giving each character plenty of focus. Plus, the animation is stunning, making every fight scene a visual delight.

Mob Psycho 100 centers around Mob, a seemingly ordinary boy with incredible psychic abilities. Despite being so powerful, Mob remains humble and down-to-earth. He works for Reigen Arataka, a psychic who isn’t what he seems, and together they investigate strange and supernatural events.

Death Note

Main Character: Yagami Light

Death Note is one of the most famous anime series out there. It’s become so popular that even people who don’t usually watch anime know about it, which is rare. The show builds suspense and drama really well, keeping the story exciting and engaging. Plus, it features a memorable and well-developed cast of characters that make the story even richer.

Death Note follows Light Yagami, a student who discovers a mysterious notebook with the power to kill. He begins using it to punish criminals, but his actions quickly escalate, turning him into a fugitive hunted by law enforcement.
