Shopify Rebellion Wins Game Changers Championship Without Dropping a Map

As a seasoned gamer with years of esports under my belt, I must say that this weekend was nothing short of spectacular! The VCT Game Changers Championship in Berlin was a thrilling display of skill and strategy, and Shopify Rebellion’s dominance was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Their back-to-back championship wins solidify their status as the best team in the Game Changers space, bar none!

This weekend, the VCT Game Changers Championship took place in Berlin, where ten top VALORANT teams were competing for their share of a $500,000 prize pool. After all was said and done, Shopify Rebellion emerged as the champions, winning the tournament undefeated and without losing a single map during an impressive upper-bracket run.

The team demonstrated an indomitable might, smoothly outplaying every opponent on their path to claim the $180,000 championship title, ultimately triumphing over MIBR GC in the decisive match.

Epic Win

Shopify Rebellion has secured its second consecutive victory at the VCT Game Changers Championship, having triumphed last year in Sao Paolo against Team Liquid in the final and receiving one of the largest prizes in VALORANT esports. The year prior to that, they earned a runner-up position during the first tournament.

With two consecutive championship victories under its belt, it’s clear that SR has firmly established itself as a top-tier competitor vying for the title of the premier team within the Game Changers sphere. G2 Gozen is the only other team that comes close, but unfortunately, they placed third in this recent competition.

Based on Esports Charts’ data, this year’s Game Changers Championship surpassed its own viewing record, reaching a peak concurrent viewership of approximately 460,001 users. In contrast, the event in the previous year attracted only around 293,000 peak viewers.

To put that into perspective, Rainbow Six Siege’s BLAST R6 Major Montreal took place this weekend, and viewership for that event peaked at around 169,000 viewers – and this is one of Rainbow Six’s best years on record.

Ever since its introduction shortly following the launch of VALORANT, the Game Changers tournament landscape has experienced exponential growth. Widely recognized as one of the most outstanding examples of a female-dominated esports environment within the industry, this space is consistently expanding further.
