Summary
- Shueisha targets 19 piracy sites leaking One Piece scans.
- The Law Novel on Trafalgar Law is finally getting an English release by Viz.
- Despite efforts to fight piracy, Jump mangas will continue to leak early.
Shueisha, a massive Japanese publishing entity, owns the rights for numerous well-known series, among which is One Piece.
One significant challenge the manga world encounters is the premature disclosure of manga episodes prior to their official publication. This early release significantly reduces the number of views for the official chapters and impacts the earnings as well. Shueisha is actively working to address this issue.
One Piece Leaks Under Attack By Publishers
Publishers are Targeting 19 Piracy Sites
I’m observing that Shuenisha, the entity responsible for publishing renowned mangas such as “One Piece” and many others, is actively pursuing those managing large-scale piracy websites.
On January 22, 2025, Shueisha requested a DMCA subpoena from the US District Court for the Northern District of California. They are looking to uncover identities, contact details (such as addresses and phone numbers), and additional information that could potentially lead to serious legal consequences for these individuals if they are discovered.
Essentially, Shueisha is asking Cloudflare to block access to sites where unauthorized One Piece scan releases occur. The affected websites total 19 in number.

In total, these websites attracted a significant number of visitors, with approximately 566 million views recorded in December 2024. Among them, Spoilerplus.tv was the most visited, amassing 124.9 million views by itself during that same month.
Shueisha has attempted to tackle piracy sites before, and it’s likely that they will do so again in the future.
What this Means for the Future of One Piece Scans
One Piece Scans Will Continue To Leak Early

As a manga enthusiast, I’m eagerly rooting for Shueisha as they persistently strive to combat unauthorized scans that surface ahead of the official manga chapter releases. However, it seems like this might be a never-ending battle due to the cyclical nature of piracy sites. When one is taken down, another swiftly rises in its place. Yet, while this fight may seem almost unwinnable, legal prosecution could serve as a strong deterrent for potential pirates, reducing the number of unlawful sites in the future.
Presently, Jump mangas will persist in being released prematurely. However, should this practice cease, enthusiasts would merely need to endure until the authorized chapter is published on platforms such as Viz Media or Manga Plus every Sunday.
