This game introduces an intriguing twist – whenever the protagonist dies, they are resurrected by a magical talisman. However, each resurrection causes them to age, increasing their power but diminishing their health until old age makes death permanent. Released in 2022, Sifu sold over a million units within its first three weeks. In December 2022, a live-action adaptation of the game was announced, and while progress was slow, recent news reports suggest updates are on the horizon. Fans eagerly anticipating the film will undoubtedly be thrilled with this latest development.

According to Deadline, Netflix has secured the rights for the upcoming movie “Sifu.” With Netflix’s involvement, fans might not have to wait too long before they see a trailer and an official release date. This news is exciting, considering it’s been two years since the project was initially announced. T.S. Nowlin, known for adapting “The Maze Runner” films and writing the 2022 American sci-fi action comedy film “The Adam Project,” is reportedly working on the script. Additionally, Chad Stahelski, famous for directing the “John Wick movies,” is producing under his 87Eleven Entertainment banner along with Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg for Story Kitchen. Sloclap is also officially part of the project.

Their proficiency in choreography and gripping storytelling is ideal for bringing the Sifu movie to life on screen. Although there’s no current information about whether Derek Kolstad will still be penning the script, his production company, Story Kitchen, remains involved in the project as a producer.
