Silent Hill 2 Remake Wants To Take You Back To The 90s With Immersion Filters

As a gamer who vividly remembers the thrill of the 90s gaming era, I must admit that Bloober Team has hit the nostalgia nail right on the head with their Silent Hill 2 remake. The option to turn off all UI elements and add a “90s filter” is a brilliant touch that transports me back to those dark, foggy nights spent huddled around my old CRT TV, controller in hand. I can’t wait to revisit the haunting world of Silent Hill 2 in October, minus any modern distractions and with all the grainy, pixelated charm of yesteryears.

Bloober Team aims to transport you back to the ’90s. Upon the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake in October, the creators will offer players an option to amplify their overall engagement with the game

On a recent social media update, creators revealed an exciting feature: Players can now choose to hide all user interface features in the game. Furthermore, they’ve introduced a “90s filter” option for users to enhance their gaming experience

“In addition, we’ve designed a ’90s aesthetic’ with texture, color adjustments, and display settings for that authentic vintage feel, as demonstrated in this demonstration,” explained the Bloober Team

If you’re seeking the most engrossing way to enjoy SILENT HILL 2, we offer an option to hide all user interface components! Additionally, we’ve added a “90s filter” with grain, color correction, and screen adjustments to make the gameplay experience truly retro. #SILENTHILL #KONAMI #BlooberTeam

Originally released in 2001, Silent Hill 2 was indeed the second game in the series. However, the very first game came out in 1999 and was developed during the late ’90s. Given this timeline, it’s not too far-fetched to consider adding a ’90s aesthetic to the game

Silent Hill 2 launches on October 8 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
