In an unexpected turn of events, a player’s funeral ceremony for their deceased Sim character in The Sims 4 turned chaotic when the vast majority of attending Sims met an untimely end. While all the deceased Sims at this funeral had reached the end of their simulated lifespans, the tragic scene was far from what the player anticipated.
The Life & Death expansion pack for The Sims 4 was launched in October, focusing on the events surrounding a Sim’s life’s end. This update introduced new careers like the Reaper and Undertaker, enabling players to manipulate ghostly entities and elevate their supernatural abilities. It also allowed Sims to explore morbid fascinations with the Ghost Historian aspiration.
However, it wasn’t just about embracing the darker side of life. The expansion also provided a more authentic way for Sims to say goodbye by allowing them to draft wills, learn various methods to cope with loss, and arrange heartfelt funerals for their deceased Sims.
As a devoted Sims 4 enthusiast, I orchestrated a heartfelt funeral for one of my elderly Sims who had passed away peacefully. I affectionately referred to the deceased Sim’s four regular suitors as her “gentleman callers.” In life, she was quite the flirt! To my astonishment, each of these gentlemen attended the service, but the dramatic twist came when they all succumbed to their own fates mere moments after the ceremony concluded. I captured and shared several poignant images from this solemn event, including a poignant scene depicting the four urns of the fallen suitors standing sentinel around the urn of my Sim.
Sims 4 Funeral Makes Almost Everybody Die
In The Sims 4, over thirty distinct methods exist for a Sim character to meet their demise. This includes gruesome deaths such as drowning, electrocution, fire, and being devoured by a Cowplant. However, there are also instances of death triggered by strong emotions like anger or embarrassment. One such emotional death is the heartbreak-induced one, and while some players dreamt of a grand romantic finale, it was clarified that they all passed away from old age almost simultaneously in an incredibly fitting scenario instead.
Some find it unusual that multiple Sims appear to be dying simultaneously, seemingly not by chance. In “The Sims 4,” players can control whether time progresses in houses they aren’t currently managing, but some users claim the game continues to let Sims grow old and perish regardless of this setting. One user even experienced a similar mass death incident immediately following their creation of a retirement home lot where all elderly Sims from the neighborhood were relocated.
