The latest addition for “The Sims 4” is titled “Life & Death”. This exciting new pack was recently announced, and it’s set to debut on October 31, perfectly timed for Halloween! The pack offers unique features such as managing ghostly Sims, enhancing their supernatural abilities, and introducing Bucket Lists for living Sims to earn extra lifetime rewards. Pre-ordering the expansion or purchasing it by December 12 will grant early access to special rewards like the Lasting Legacy Family Portrait, Mournful Melodies Music Box, and Plumed Elegance Mask.
In the recent advertisement for three specific items, many players of EA’s The Sims 4 seem displeased with how the Macabre Mementos ad is being delivered to them. As pointed out by Reddit user Rainbow-Elephant3445, the rewards for purchasing Life & Death are already visible on the game’s main menu, making the additional pop-up that appears when the game launcher loads both annoying and unnecessary since it repeats the same information. Previously in February, The Sims 4 faced criticism from fans due to aggressive ads featuring a constantly flashing button within the user interface leading to the game’s DLC store.
The Sims 4 Pop-Up Ad Is Upsetting Players
It’s important to acknowledge that not every player finds the pop-up annoying; some believe it could offer useful information about rewards within the game, particularly those who might have overlooked certain promotions otherwise. For instance, some players may have missed out on the rewards program for The Sims 4: Happy at Home, despite its visibility through promotional images and links on the game’s menu screen. This time-limited program, launched in June, provided login rewards such as an exclusive dart board and a single-person bar within the game to players.
It appears that most gamers prefer not to encounter pop-up ads from EA in future versions of The Sims 4. Originally released as a fully-priced game in 2014, The Sims 4 transitioned into a free-to-play model in 2022. This shift allowed the game’s continuation by releasing various content packs and expansions. While the base game is provided at no charge, some players have expressed dissatisfaction over seeing advertisements within a game they pay for additional premium content.
