The highly anticipated life simulation game, Paralives, will not be releasing in Early Access on December 8th as originally planned. The developers at Paralives Studio have announced a delay, meaning players will have to wait longer to start building and living in the game.
The quest to find a successor to The Sims in the life simulation genre continues. InZOI launched into Early Access earlier this year with a lot of hype, but its player base quickly declined. It’s unclear if it can win those players back. Paralives, announced in 2019, might see InZOI‘s experience as a warning: launching with limited content could drive players away.
Paralives Early Access Delayed Until May 2026
A message from the Paralives team: — Paralives (@paralives.com) 2025-11-14T15:00:27.799Z
The team behind the upcoming game Paralives announced on Bluesky that the Early Access launch, originally scheduled for December 8th, has been delayed until May 25, 2026. They explained that recent player feedback showed the game wasn’t ready for release, citing significant bugs in gameplay and a limited number of things to do in the game world as key issues that were impacting player enjoyment.
The team behind Paralives knows people will compare it to The Sims, so they want to make sure the game is polished and enjoyable from the start, even when it first launches in Early Access. They’ve delayed the release to May 2026 to ensure it can compete with other popular life simulation games and meet player expectations. While the delay is disappointing, it’s better to take the extra time to deliver a fully realized game rather than rush a flawed product.
Paralives Studio will be showing off 45 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay on November 25th, giving fans a peek at how the game is progressing. They plan to do more streams as the May 25, 2026 release date gets closer, offering details about what players can expect during the Early Access phase. Competing with The Sims as a leading life simulation game will be a big challenge, but this open communication from the developers is essential for building excitement and achieving success.
