The already criticized decision to include microtransactions in the early release of Skate has been made worse by the release of an expensive and poorly designed skin based on Isaac Clarke from the Dead Space game.
The launch of EA’s new Skate game has been met with disappointment from fans. Many feel it’s a cynical attempt to make money quickly, and the inclusion of in-game purchases has been widely criticized. It’s difficult to view the game favorably, especially considering the expensive ‘Dead Space’ bundle EA is offering within it.
Dead Space & Skate Bundle Is Made Of Cardboard, Literally
The new Isaac Clarke bundle in the Skate shop is really popular! It includes some extra goodies like profile customizations and board designs, but most people are getting it for the Isaac Clarke character skin itself.
It’s interesting to remember that Skate 3 once offered a free Isaac Clarke skin – you just needed a code to unlock it, and it was a really accurate recreation of his in-game suit. Now, in the early access version of the new Skate game coming in 2025, a similar bundle costs over $40, but the outfit looks cheaply made, like something quickly thrown together for Halloween using cardboard and paint.
We figured this out ourselves. At the Skate store, San Van Bucks are purchased separately. The least expensive way to buy them is for £30.97, which gets you 2,800 SVB plus two smaller packs of 500 SVB – that works out to a little over $40.
