For instance, the city of Whiterun from Skyrim has been completely rebuilt within The Sims 4 by dedicated players. While The Sims 4 has some building restrictions, the game still offers almost limitless potential for players to design and build their own towns and cities.
Skyrim Player Remakes Riften Within The Sims 4
A fan of Skyrim recently recreated the city of Riften in The Sims 4. Reddit user DeadgirlRot shared their project on the game’s subreddit, detailing how they built the southeastern Skyrim city on a large 60×60 residential lot. The build began around Christmas 2024, and after a break, took several weeks to complete. While a perfect replica wasn’t possible due to space limitations, the Sims 4 version features key landmarks like the town’s lake, marketplace, and interactive bridges. Players can visit this recreation in The Sims 4 Gallery using the ID ‘Lilithx88’.
Riften, the home of the Thieves Guild in Skyrim, also features recognizable spots like The Bee and Barb Inn and the Temple of Mara. According to DeadgirlRot, their recreation of Riften focused on making The Bee and Barb a functional space where characters could relax and have a drink, as it was one of the only furnished buildings in their project. Players can also use the Temple of Mara as a wedding venue within The Sims 4 if they choose.
