In Slay the Princess, there are numerous ways the story can unfold due to the various choices you make throughout the game. These outcomes could occur at different points, such as unexpectedly before the final showdown, or during the climax, once you’ve delivered all five artifacts to the Shifting Mound.

Ever since the launch of the Pristine Cut version, the game “Slay the Princess” now boasts a further ending, bringing the total number of primary endings to a satisfying seven that players can uncover within the game.

This psychological horror doesn’t only scare due to typical jump-scares, but it delves into themes of existential dread and the recurring pattern of violence as well.

To reach this point, I ensure that in every cycle, I deliberately step away from the cabin during Chapters 2 and 3, thus preventing the Shifting Mound from finding a means to travel before I venture into the Long Quiet.

In Chapter 1, choosing to depart sets you on the enigmatic route. To access the intended conclusion, you should initially progress to Chapter 2 and persistently decline entering the cabin thereafter. Engaging with the Shifting Mound at any stage will preclude you from achieving this ending, compelling a restart instead.

The accomplishments are similarly named after the five stages of grief, since the Shifting Mound realizes that it’s futile for her to prevent your demise, leading you both towards oblivion.

As we reach the climax, following a solemn discussion with the Echo, you move towards the Shifting Mound to engage in what will likely be your ultimate battle against the deities.

In simpler terms, the entity known as The Shifting Mound yearns to depart from the enclosure both of you are imprisoned within. You grasp her hand, dismantling the confinement, liberating the two of you to traverse the boundless cosmos. As a result, you and she assume the roles of deities in a fresh world.

This outcome can be reached by continuing with the game as usual until you reach the finale, and choosing to depart from the Construct alongside her, thus concluding this world, then creating a fresh one, repeatedly.

It may appear that this resolution seems tranquil, but in reality, it condemns countless realms to nothingness. If you fully endorse the Princess’s viewpoint and have no intention of disputing yours, then this outcome might not be favorable for you.

4. A New And Unending Dawn

If you decide not to accept the Shifting Mound’s offer, you’ll find yourself in a decisive confrontation, akin to a climactic battle with a boss character. In this encounter, the deity of alteration and veracity will invoke the five artifacts you’ve presented, using them to persuade you of her viewpoint, while stubbornly disregarding yours. The Voice of the Hero makes an appearance then, guiding you back to the cabin, allowing you a glimpse of the Princess as she was when you first encountered her.

Within the cabin lies your tool, the Pristine Blade. You kill the Princess, and she confesses she’s always cherished you before vanishing forever.

Instead, the phrase “A new and unending dawn, and everybody hates you” can be reached if you are harsh towards your Guides, informing them that their lives will end after delivering a vessel in the Long Silence. They become resentful due to your treatment, vowing to make your divine status as uncomfortable as possible.

One might view this as a reasonably satisfactory conclusion. Slaying the Princess was, after all, part of the task at hand, and the Narrator wasn’t deceiving us – you did, in fact, preserve this world. With your elevation to deity status, you now possess the power to mold it according to what feels right for you.

If everyone around you seems to dislike you persistently, it could lead to an endless torment within your mind, as a chorus of discontent echoes in your thoughts throughout your perpetual existence. Picture enduring the Whispers of the Disgruntled or the Persistent Critic for all eternity.

3. You’re On A Path In The Woods…

Once More, From The Beginning

You step into the cabin, grabbing your weapon as you prepare to end the Princess’s life once and for all. Yet, she inquires if you might converse instead, so you settle beside her.

She clarifies that you possess the ability to cause her to restart everything anew, thus saving the world for another cycle. This could mean erasing all your memories, or eliminating her instead.

Should you decide to disregard all that has transpired, the Princess will snatch the blade from your grasp and end your life, causing the game to restart anew. The world around you fades into darkness, and you cease to exist. As for where you find yourself, it’s a path deep within the woods…

As a gamer, I find myself facing an agonizing choice: saving the world from annihilation, yet knowing that I and the Princess are doomed to remain stuck in this vicious cycle of conflict. Each loop brings us back to square one, denying us the chance to fully explore our love story. It’s a heart-wrenching tale of star-crossed lovers who will never reach their romantic destiny.

2. Your New World

Defy Her

In your dispute with the Shifting Mound, you bring up how each interaction between you two has resulted in something negative or violent.

This version maintains the original meaning but uses a more conversational tone to make it easier for readers to understand.

She gets enraged and resorts to physical confrontation with you, yet she stands no chance against your might. In the end, you prove to be a divine entity, vanquishing her permanently and demolishing the Construct single-handedly.

This conclusion is now included in the latest version of Pristine Cut. You’ll have access to it if you transport vessels to the Shifting Mound using forceful methods, which could involve either killing the vessels or causing them to warp (similar to the Deconstructed Damsel scenario).

If the Orator from the Shifting Mound presents her points via those artifacts, consistently selecting the red choice each time will lead to that particular conclusion.

In this rephrased version: Winning against the Evolving Hill gives you a fresh realm to mold as its solitary deity. However, none of your Choruses echo within you from the Manufacture, not even the Champion. It’s a mixed conclusion for a single god who will watch over an unaware world, oblivious to your selfless act.

Rather than grabbing the weapon, you descend into the basement without it. There’s no tool for slaying her at hand, and the only resolution is to depart with Her. As you grasp her hand, the Voice of the Hero decides to remain within the Construct, hoping he might find other voices.

You and the princess exit the basement effortlessly, yet she’s tense, apprehensive about the unfamiliar future that lies before you both. Together, you push open the door and venture out into the world, now ordinary beings.

Instead, you could choose to exit the cabin with the Stranger if it’s the initial ship that takes you to the Shifting Mound. The Hero’s Voice will be joined by the Dissenter’s, so at least they’ll have company while you and the Princess explore life beyond the Construct.

In this finale, not only does your relationship with the Princess blossom completely, but you also uncover the truth about everything and decide to relinquish your divine status to coexist in the world, either of which could have been your destiny.
