As a seasoned Smite player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that Sol, with her stellar burst and radiant abilities, is indeed a formidable Carry goddess. Her unique kit offers a perfect blend of attack speed, damage, and mobility, making her an excellent choice for the Carry role in Conquest Mode.
Smite 2 is a third-person MOBA with 23 Gods so far. With significant balance changes to the Gods and the graphical improvement, Hi-Rez Studios has polished Smite for the new generation devices. The changes in the music and ambiance have also seen positive feedback from the community. Similar to the previous game, Smite 2 features a Conquest mode where players defend the different lanes.
In the current lineup, you’ll find familiar deities from the earlier version of Smite 1, making it easier for most players to recognize their offensive and movement patterns. There are no limitations on which god a player can choose to play, allowing them to select any character they prefer for any role. However, certain gods perform statistically better when played in their assigned roles.
Best Solo Lane Gods
In the Solo Lane, two divine characters make a striking impression among their peers. One is Mordred, a fresh face in Smite 2. Mordred’s gameplay primarily focuses on his Wrath passive, which builds up as he engages in combat with opponents. His signature move, Heart Slash, roots the enemy, depleting their life force while restoring yours concurrently. This powerful ability can transform, making him invulnerable to crowd control and able to pass through obstacles to lift enemies off the ground and strike them repeatedly in succession. However, the enhanced version of this ultimate requires a greater buildup of Wrath.
His abilities, namely Cruel Strikes and Bloodrage, aid him in mastering his lane and gaining a strategic advantage against opponents. The move, Severing Slice, can be tricky to execute, particularly at a distance, but it inflicts Bleeding on the target which persists over time. If Mordred is properly built, he can dish out substantial damage as the game progresses.
In the realm of Solo Lane deities, Chaac takes the second position and boasts an imposing skill set. Known for his versatility, Chaac can handle any Solo Laner effectively during both early and mid-game phases. His Thunder Strike serves dual purposes – it can be employed offensively and as a method to disengage from combat. The synergy between this attack and his abilities Torrent and Rain Dance is noteworthy.
Best Jungle Gods
In Smite 1, Fenrir wasn’t the top choice for jungle due to numerous other gods who could counter him. But in Smite 2, with its smaller roster, Fenrir stands out and dominates most opponents he encounters in the jungle. He has an efficient jungle clear, enabling him to engage or assist lane enemies swiftly. His Ragnarok ability is a game-changer throughout the match as it grants Crowd Control immunity, lets him attack and capture enemies to move them anywhere on the map. This can be especially advantageous in taking out the enemy Carry from the fight, giving your team control over a part of the map.
In the game, Susano, who can be rather elusive, is a character that requires skill to master, especially for those familiar with him. His skills, such as Storm Kata and Jet Stream, aid him in bridging the distance between himself and his opponents. The latter, Jet Stream, can also serve as an escape mechanism, allowing Susano to teleport to a whirlwind created at a distance. Wind Siphon and his ultimate, Typhoon, are effective methods for lifting and drawing enemies nearer. The Typhoon can be deployed earlier, but it will result in a smaller, less damaging version. Susano is a potent choice for the Jungler, but he is often banned due to his strength.
Best Middle Lane Gods
Zeus is one of the best Midlaners in the game. His primary focus is to apply charges onto enemies and then inflict damage depending on how many charges they have. His Thunderclap ability is a great tool for clearing minions and can protect you if you are being ganked. The Lightning Storm ultimate ability can deal massive damage to enemies in a specific area and apply charges. When paired up with Detonate Charge, this ultimate can stun the whole team, making a swift victory for you.
In this character breakdown, we find a distinct deity named Sol, who possesses a distinctive passive mechanism called Heat Accumulation. As the Heat level rises, so does Sol’s Intelligence, Strength, Attack Speed, and ultimately, her Attack Damage reaches its peak.
Since Solarion (Sol) boosts her attack speed over time due to her passive trait, she can effectively be employed as a Carry character, a role that suits her well and is tactically sound.
Best Carry Gods
As a die-hard fan, I’d like to sing the praises of Jing Wei, my favorite Carry God in the Duo Lane, particularly in the Conquest Mode. Her unique Passive enables her to soar above obstacles from the Fountain, significantly reducing the time it takes to reach the lane and keep farming. The Persistent Gust sends enemies flying, and when within its vicinity, she boosts her Attack Speed. This talent can be combined with the Agility ability, which is a standard dash but offers Jing Wei temporary flight after being lifted by Persistent Gust. Explosive Bolts unleash area damage, and her attacks broaden with a high probability of Critical hits.
Her final move, referred to as “Aerial Assault,” is an effective weapon that lets her inflict heavy damage on opponents as she soars above them in a direct path. Following the assault, she can either touch down in front of her enemies or retreat to launch another aerial assault and descend again.
In the Carry position, Anhur excels due to his valuable abilities. The slowness from Shifting Sands lets your Jungler effortlessly set up ganks for free kills, while Impale is capable of stunning an enemy when aligned against a wall. Moreover, he offers a reliable disengage method by leaping forward. His Ultimate possesses a respectable range and inflicts substantial damage, rendering him immune to crowd control (CC) during the casting period. This means you can concentrate on impaling your target without any interruptions.
Best Support Gods
Bacchus is undeniably one of the most entertaining characters and an outstanding choice for the Support role. His abilities revolve around him being in a state of drunkenness, with his “Chug” skill enhancing the rest of his kit. The combination of his “Belly Flop” followed by his “Belch of the Gods” allows him to jump onto and lift an enemy, then stun enemies in front of him. He excels as a tanky Support, providing support for the team’s frontline while also shielding the Carry when necessary.
Ares is another Tank character in the Support Role whose essential role is to CC the enemies and provide buffs to allies. He can become quite challenging to take down with the proper build. His Shackles ability and No Escape, ultimate, are both abilities for Crowd Control crippling or either pulling the enemies towards Ares. Bolster Defences increase allies’ protection and damage, while Searing Flash damages enemies in front of Ares.
