Hi-Rez Studios, the developers behind Smite 2, have recently conducted another round of job cuts, only a few months following their previous wave of staff reductions.
On Thursday afternoon, various sources started sharing on social media platforms that around 30 individuals were being terminated from their roles. These dismissals occurred in several different departments, such as esports and development. It’s been suggested that the actual number could be higher, but an official tally remains undisclosed.
Currently, Hi-Rez Studios hasn’t made any public statements about the recent layoffs. Moreover, their CEO, Stewart Chisam, appears to have temporarily disabled his social media accounts, and we at TopMob have been unable to get a response from him regarding this matter.
In October, Hi-Rez Studios announced they were reducing staff due to leadership issues with Chisam. Initially, they stated that this decision was aimed at securing Hi-Rez’s long-term prosperity, particularly focusing on setting up SMITE 2 for a lasting and thriving future.
Again, no reason has been announced for these latest layoffs at the company.
